Gibbs was incredible today

Bama lost
Gibbs made the best decision for himself. He left a program that was floundering, for a program who competes for CFP NC’s every year. Not a single person with the opportunity to make themselves into an NFL 1st round pick would pass up that opportunity. The ill will and butt hurt in this thread by adults is pathetic.
Nobody cares about Gibbs. His NFL chances had *nothing * to do with where he went to school. His stats would have been much better in the ACC. Your entire argument is bullshit.

I guess we will have Gibbs thread every week for the butt hurt juice crew guys; but I can tell you as a straight up fact living in Alabama, I don't hear near the praise for Gibbs from the Bama fans that I hear for him on here.
I think Gibbs will play on Sundays. That said, bama fans have seen better talent on field recently.

Lol if no one cares about Gibbs, you and others wouldn’t be posting about him. I like how you intentionally glossed over the “business decision“ part where he still has a chance to play for a CFP NC in your rant. And if you think his stats would be better behind the GT OL to date, you might want to take off the gold colored glasses and think again.

But by all means, continue with the butt hurt that he’s not playing in front of 35,000 weekly in irrelevant games.

I'm not butthurt. I literally don't give a flying öööö about Gibbs or Bama or the Dwags or the SEC which is what it seems the majority of this board was focused on yesterday.

I am delighted Gibbs committed to us and played two years. He showed why he is so highly regarded. He is an incredible back in space. I understand why he wanted to see what he could do at Bama, although as a Tech grad and son of an Auburn man, I only cheer for them to beat the Dawgs.

I did find his lack of effort at times to have been frustrating. He did not seem inclined to do the hard things, the little things right, while a Jacket. That is on him, his head coach, and position coach. Saban is good for him, for he demands effort and does not treat any of his five stars as prima donnas; he has enough he does not have to.

I see Gibbs much the same way I view Acuna. Incredible talents who can do extraordinary things on the playing field, but sometimes unwilling to give 100% at all times. That has a tendency to catch up with you and limit the greatness of your career. I hope Gibbs learns a lot at Bama and is able to maximze his success as a collegiate and then as a pro.

Running behind our offensive line? Nah.

Spot on. NFL scouts don't give a @$&* where you played. Measurables and film. I agree his highlight film would be much greater with a Tech uniform on. He bought into the hype and the bullshit that has overtaken college football. He need only have looked to Calvin as an example. In the end he jumped ship. His commitment meant @*&$. I for one won't reward that.

Yeah, I see Gibbs as a Randy Maybe ss type player. He could be one of the greatest at his position, but will never reach his potential because he is unwilling to risk it all to be great.

I'm annoyed that this thread is still up, but yeah this assessment of Gibbs is spot-on. He wants glory and money, but he doesn't really care about football. He wants a mansion and a fancy German car, not wins. I don't even necessarily blame him, but it's blatantly obvious

I’m not mad at him either. Honestly, I think Calvin could have been a better player. But he chose to be just less than his best at football and isn’t physically hobbled in retirement like so many other players.

Speaking of Bama, they are using an RB from us and an LT from Vandy, guess the neverending flow of 5 stars had a few blips.

Have you seen Calvin's fingers?

You think Calvin could have been better?? He could have had a longer career for sure, but I'm not sure he could have been a better player than he was.

Calvin looks like an athletic man for his age. I’ve seen a lot of NFL players age a decade for every year they were in the league.

How did you arrive at this conclusion? He left GT because he wanted to win.

I’m not going to obsess over the guy, but I don’t blame him at all for leaving. The GC3 ship was obviously sinking, and he had the opportunity to be the premier back at the premier program in the country.
