GT Fan Experience Enhancements

I've always used the season ticket clear bag to bring in 3-4 bottles of water (day games in lower east, man) and a couple of those little cups of mini Oreos or whatever. I seldom bought anything but water from the concession stand anyway. I'll be bummed if I can't bring in bottled water, as (due to a combination of superstition and not wanting to miss the game) I don't generally leave my seat until the game ends. Nothing that I'll riot over, but I'd at least like to continue bringing in my own water - the concession lines, staffed by well-meaning but untrained and inefficient civilians, can be overwhelming.

I'm intrigued (not in a good way) by the 2023 goal of "creation of additional premium seating areas." That might be good for GT (more $$) but it's probably bad for most actual fans (especially the people who get displaced to make room for more club seats). The existing club seat area is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen, on the balance. We gave away a legitimate competitive advantage (raucous home fans right behind the visiting team) in favor of sections full of corporate no-shows (who are often disinterested unaffiliated people or visiting fans) to make our stadium look even more empty on TV. Do any of our competitors have premium seats on the field on the 50 yard line? Some (like Duke) have them toward the back of the section (a la boxes), but not the entire stands from front to back.

JRjr

Maybe its the beginning of moving those seats elsewhere using a phased approach I damn sure cant see skyrocketing demand for premium seating being the driver for additional club areas.

The fat guy that whipped Czars ass would make quick work of a pussy like VaJJ
The guy who almost got his ass whipped by me was much bigger than that old tudball. If you ever meet us, just ask the girlfriend or daughter.

Premium seats need to be LW.

This is crap - I've been bringing in sodas + waters since they allowed it. I still end up buying a souvenir cup because I want ice - but generally I munch on snacks. Now all you're doing is just having me load up my jacket like I do for movies. Stupid stupid policy moves. My aunt used to be a gate usher / ambassador or whatever they were called. They got rid of them and moving to these useless security people. I don't see why they are doing this stuff that makes it worse.

This is going to only keep our season ticket holders from renewing and then only sell out the Clemson game.

Where are all of the people defending Stansbury and that he knows what he’s doing?

I personally look at what he did or didn’t do at Oregon State and I’m skeptical. This sort of thing doesn’t instill much confidence.

I'll defend him. Stansbury probably listened to Tech grads' incessant bragging about being loaded and figured y'all could stand to drop twenty bucks a game on nachos to help the AA's bottom line.

What he didn't figure is that while one in six Tech grads is a millionaire, the other five are so tight-wadded they make their wives clip coupons and reuse plastic mayonnaise jars as storage containers while making their five pasty, malnourished-looking children wear random hand-me-down clothes they get from the needy box at their nondenominational church.

Y'all bitch so much about not keeping up with Clemsons and UGAs of the world, but then whine when you have to pay an extra hundred and fifty bucks a season on concessions. The fact is, most of the Tech fan base is too cheap to field a consistent winner. Y'all are the ones with the problem, not Stansbury.

I only have three kids

After a long while one learns to not get to excited / disappointed with this stuff.

Does not appear too many season ticket holders are salivating, but as someone else pointed out, it will be of interest to see the long term"enhancements".

Is this suppose to somehow increase ticket sales? Really?

The only thing I have been trying to get an answer from GTAA on is - what are your on the field / court goals?

Is it ok to lose to ugag 90% of the time? Is 7 - 5 satisfactory?

Is making NCAA MBB tourney once in 5 years ok?

Nobody there cares to tell the customer the answers.

And I am suppose to get tingles over a clear plastic bag and some kind of "water stations" with liquid coming from who knows where or what?

I will not be the least bit surprised to see these stations with some Igloo Coolers present.

And painted the wrong color Gold.

Oh shutup. He's amazing and all he did was make the bag policy standards like they're at almost all stadiums. He was only at OSU for 1 year btw so you must be an idiot

The problem with concessions, especially in the UN, is that the lines get impossibly long near and during halftime. Hardly an enhancement making them even more impossibly long. I normally get something from concessions pregame, but getting something during games like Clemson or UGAg means likely missing the second half kickoff.

I hate being lied to is what makes it even worse. Calling next season's changes enhancements is nothing but a straight up, bald face, lie.

What happened to "we are GT. We can do that!" Now it is "we are GT. We are getting our bag policy more in line with what Athens does!!"

I give not two shits about what other team's bag policies are.

I have a suspicion that, even with our difficulties selling season tickets, we are going to experience a decent sized hike in cost soon. Perhaps not this season, but maybe for the Gagger year 2019. It will be called enhanced ticket prices.

And with someone sticking their nasty bottle over the spout so we can share viruses and bacteria a bit easier. I hate ööööing water fountains.

And that is how MOST millionaires get there. They are PRUDENT. Go ahead and make wisecracks all day when people are 'tight'. Clark Howard has more money than you'll probably ever see. This type of carefree morals with money is why most Americans are up to their eyeballs in credit card debt. Yes, I've clipped coupons, yes I've saved both plastic and glass jars for whatever. While, I haven't hit the 'needy box' at church for my kids clothes, however, I have shopped at the thrift store from time to time. While not a millionaire yet, I have a plan. And the plan doesn't include willy nilly wasteful spending. I do have season tickets. They are not in the premium seats, but not the cheap seats either; but ones that fit my budget.
My issue with these 'things' are most of them appear to be simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Want to enhance my experience with food options at the stadium - give me choices! And good ones on top of that. If I want cheaper fare, have it available. If I want to drop $40 for food, I expect it to be worth $40. It's that simple really. And, as someone earlier had mentioned, there was a time when a large number of fans did bring Varsity into the stadium. "Have your order in mind so we can get you to the game on time". There's a reason that saying is posted in the V. Secondly, I understand the desire to help programs raise money; so we have the Duluth band working concessions. I get that. But when you have crowds the size of a college football game, that needs to change. These people are not trained to move folks fast. Hire trained staff to operate the cashier point and let the groups work the back side. Again, it's not that hard really.
Overall I'm disappointed in these 'enhancements'. Had I known this was coming out, I would have taken the time to hear directly from Todd at the Jack Thompson event last week and gotten his side.

The new change does effectively prevent people from bringing young kids to the game. Congrats GTAA, you played yourself.
