Inofficial CFP Thread

I hate that Herbstreit is calling this game. Should not be allowed - the very obvious bias ruins the viewing experience for all but OSU fans. Networks used to prevent this. They should go back to that.

Who’s he rooting for? Isn’t his kids at Clemson?

That was really smart for Dabo to give the buckeyes bulletin board material for saying they aren't a top ten team. Wonder if he'd like to retract that statement now.

Absolutely was targeting. After 4-5 years of this rule how are so many still ignorant as to what it’s purpose is - especially the players. You can’t use the helmet, period. Skalski absolutely lowered his head and led with his helmet. That’s the play they actually made the rule for. The other part of the rule is the helmet to helmet.

Don't the buckeye fans hate Herbstreit because he's not a homer?

You're not? Since when? He lead with his crown. It isn't his first targeting. He's gonna end up with old school NFL brain damage if he keeps it up

I agree with most of what you are saying; but I think his intent was to lead with his shoulder and Fields zagged. I don't think it was an intentional spear; but that doesn't matter as far as the ejection is concerned.

Targeting — defined by the NCAA as forcible contact with the crown of the helmet or forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent.

Supposedly, you're supposed to "tick all the boxes" in order to be called for targeting. The Clemson defender went down, shoulder to Fields, and Fields spun around into the guy's helmet. That's not forcible contact against a defenseless opponent imo

Clemson has a chance here to put Fields out of the game permanently with one more big hit.

I've had broken ribs before. I don't know if Fields has bruised ribs, but I was miserable for weeks.

Trey Sermon is dialing up $$. Master Teague on a milk carton.

No. He led with the crown. It was reviewed and confirmed. The rule is for the protection of the offensive AND defensive player.

Then I do not understand how it is physically possible for someone to lead with their shoulder, because most of the time my head sits on top of mine.

How is OsU still letting Fields play

I know its not the party line but after Clemson tried to embarrass our program, I don't look at them the same.

I'd be fine of Ohio St. ran up the score on them.
