Probably isn’t big bucks specifically for him, but they are funded enough to pay new players $X dollars to come on board. He’s a recruiting target for them so their stipend is part of their recruiting pitch.

So, are players allowed to put out feelers before entering the portal? The timing seems a little weird. Seems like you'd want to declare as early as possible to fill a limited spot elsewhere but this screams "I've already got a landing spot"
