Jeff Sims

4th most yards by a GT QB in 10 seasons ... in his freshman debut ... on the road at FSU.

Sims is gonna breaks öööö ton of records on the Flats. I haven’t been this excited about a player or team in a while. Finally found a bright spot in this ööööhole of a year
No he won’t because he’s gonna leave after 2 years. And the NFL will let him.

I don’t like the 3rd and shorts out of the gun, but it is what it is.
Passing game was much better than last year. Running game had some real slow developing plays but we eventually started making some headway.
Hopefully he keeps it up. I’m still not sold on Pnode, but I want to believe.
I think run game speed increases with Sims’ experience.

This kid is for real. Just watched the condensed game over in another thread as everything was a bit of a blur from yesterday. This is an elite QB. Also got to give P-Nude his props for a well-called game. As others have already said, were it not for some freshman/rookie mistakes from our QB and Kicker, we walk out of there with a large-margin win. As it was, both of those young men got to redeem themselves and did so in fine fashion. This feels really good!.

Yep, and we didn't really try stretching the field with long passes. Makes me wonder if the players had communicated back that we are stronger than FSU in the trenches and can just line up and run plays and pound them.

Why even run the low percentage long plays when we were eating them alive with the dink and dunk stuff that has frustrated us for years. We just did to FSU what has been done to us by others (specifically uga) for years. You could tell FSU was intent on making Sims beat them and not our running game, and PNode and Sims did just that with a precision short pass game mixed in with some timely runs.

They almost pulled off the "bend don't break" defense, right? 16 points is a good stat for them.

They obviously needed more from their O.

They sold out to stop the run at first and Sims made them pay. We became more balanced when FSU switched to drop more men into coverage and they couldn’t stop us. A promising sign.

Jeff Sims may just be the next Joe Hamilton and Gleason the next Goose

Shout out to our RBs who I thought really picked up the blitzes and blocked well, giving Sims the extra bit of time he needed. That's been a missing piece- great coaching by TC and executing by the players.
