Jeff Sims

Oh.
My.
Goodness.

He's....I don't know- a psychopath? Not sure what the right term is. He literally believes he didn't call a TO on the FG and change the play due to the booing from the stands. He thought we had "a packed house" there (33k of 55k is NOT packed)....he thought the game was 0-0 when we honored the basketball team and then Sims got hurt? We were down 0-14. He thoughts Sims was playing great when he came out? I don't call 3/8 and 21 yrds great.

He's insane- he's lying to himself and believing his own lies. This honestly bothers me more than losing. I wouldn't want someone like that in a position of responsibility if I depended on him.

Just say we didn't play well- I'll take the blame- didn't coach well....apologies to the fans...stay with us- we'll get it done.

He actually said he thought Sims played well. Gibbs is his star recruit. Yates is not his recruit. I'm surprised Yates hasn't transferred yet.

FTFY

Reggie did some boneheaded things but he played his guts out. Who else would get up in a UGA assistants face jawing at him after getting hit on the sideline?
Not good or bad. But he reminds me a lot of Reggie.

Psychopath? Might could be.

Think your looking for jordan yates plays a LOT like reggie

It isn't that he doesn't believe he didn't change his play because of the booing, it is that he is unwilling to admit it.

I am no CGC fan by any stretch but no coach would cop to that.
And could you trust any coach's decision-making after he admits to changing a call based on crowd reaction?

I'm more dumbstruck on 33,000 is now relatively packed. Or the perception he has that Sims played well, despite going 3 for 8 and missing open receivers for easy scores. The fact Collins used the first hour and a half (ok, maybe not that long. But still) of the presser to praise Cochran effusively for his Catapult rating tells me ... he's in over his head.

Remember, the coaches had been saying all summer had much time Sims had been spending outside from practice in CDP's offense, watching film, trying to get better, how much progress he had made, etc. etc. Makes me wonder if he's doing that, when's he going to class? But I digress....

Coach said in today's presser that Devin Cochran was the offensive player of the week. And had the highest effort score recorded during CGC's tenure. About 30 seconds into the presser.

I quit after he said Kennesaw State was one of the top offenses and top defenses in college football. If thats the case then fire Collins and go get Bohannon

Just think how bad we'd be if we didn't gain a competitive advantage from not naming starters or withholding injury info.
Northern Illinois didn't name starters either. So we must have had a hard time adjusting to the lineup, since, you know, watching tape on them and going through the clippings of their coverage must have provided no clues whatsoever. Aside from the 22 package, it was more masterful and subtle subterfuge from Coach Hammock.

Pnode said something similar in his presser. Apparently all fall Sims was making almost 100% of those throws. It's very possible that he just played tight in his first game, and if he gets his mind **** right and settles down hell be fine. It's also possible he never recovers. Or it could be somewhere in the middle. We'll see. He certainly showed flashes of promise last year.

Yates may not be CGC's guy as Sims is, but Mason and Dontae Smith, both PJ recruits, are ahead of CGC's first big recruit, Griffin. Where has that kid been?
So with that, I don't put a lot of credence into Sims starting over Yates because of who he committed to - even if CGC was point blank told to honor the commits made in the 2019 class that PJ had accrued.

11 games in .. an opener against NIU against a nowhere near full house ... can't come out tight. No way.
Bryce Young came out in his first start, not at home, against Miami and said, (unzipping sound), "here it is." Hell, Jack Coan had his first start for ND (though far from his first start overall) on national TV against Florida State, with someone who kills people as a head coach, and he wasn't tight. Nah, no pressure there. None at all.

Sims does have a ton of potential. He's extremely elusive (a less mobile QB would have been sacked three times as many as he was last year. He really bailed out his O line a ton). I hope he hits his groove and soon.

That’s right. I’d forgotten that. The question was something like, “Sims didn’t play as well as you said he was gonna play all summer. Do you just expect him to be better next time or did you talk to him?” Geoff’s response was, “ Sims was playing good. I don’t know where that comment is coming from.”

Yates was the better qb Saturday.

I don't disagree, I just don't think one and a half quarters of football defines him. Even Tom Brady has had bad games.

I'm pretty down on the team as a whole right now, and I don't expect that to change this week, even if we beat the snot out of KSU, but I don't necessarily want to give up on a QB who seems to have a lot of talent.

Meet our metrosexual woke coach -- Geoffort Collins.

Performance means nothing. Only effort. Everyone gets a trophy.
The Stewart Smalley of college football.

People accepted it in life before they accepted it in football.

What used to sound like a sell job to the fans about “largest transistion in college football history” and “just wait and see what I do to this place” and “it’s not a matter of if but when” is quickly turning into sounding like “how stupid are you that you don’t appreciate my greatness” or “you must be too stupid to see it, look harder dummy.”

That was the answer to the fans to both Quinlan’s and Ken’s questions.

Didn't we suffer from slow starts and getting behind last year? I think this speaks to poor preparation.
