Johnson reflects on the train wreck that was Collins

I don’t identify with anyone loser
But you did for a long time while he was here. Until even you couldnt deny how much he sucked. Pretty sure some of us were even labeled F.@.G.’s just for displaying cautious doubts about his style.l and lack of real results as a head coach when we could’ve simply gone for continuity with a team and program that was contending for ACCCG appearances regularly.

I supported him as a coach as I did Cpj.. now they’re both gone. So who tf cares about them anymore. I don’t identify with people.

Ross is by simple virtue of the national championship.

O’Leary is carried by 3IAR against uga, but probably falls slight behind CPJ’s high level wins.
Ross not only for the NC but for the biggest turnaround in the shortest period of time.

I'm torn between O'Leary and Johnson. Both are giants. I'll just drink to both of them for six wins against the dwags each of which is a treasure.

I agree what he said rubbed me the wrong way a little, but it was an interview, not prepared remarks.

What he should have said was something like, "Obviously the 1990 national title was a pinnacle, but as far as sustained success over a ten year period, I'd put us up against any decade since Dodd."

I miss CPJ pressers. Folks were so impressed that Geoff courted the media and we got positive spin stories from idiots at the AJC for about a year, but as it turns out, the idiots at the AJC are idiots. By year 3.5 a CGC presser was like a Weezer song on continuous loop.

Key was asked about playing #1 this week. His response amounted to "it's about 10 higher than the one we just beat". I liked that and I hope we can go back to frank realism. And the realism includes Orange Bowl wins.

I almost forgot about F.@.Gs. Just because we could spot bs walking from a mile away we were labeled this. So I give a big F You salute to all of you that called us this.

Now you're forgiven, carry on.

Yeah it's going to be biggest transition in the history

Say what you will but the fact remains that hiring a coach now is ten fold easier than it was 4 years ago. But you sound like we may have the biggest transition in college football on our hands so I don't know.

Funny, it is always easier to follow 3 X 3 win seasons of a coach no one likes... the expectations are very low. Don't kid yourself, we still are not desirable to the best candidates for $ and school.

The one thing that pos Collins said that was true was it was the greatest transition in the history of college football. He successfully transitioned GT football from a program that was respected for a century (sure some bad years, but many good years) into the laughing stock of college football programs. One that was openly mocked on major network tv. He is the only “coach” that managed to do that. Some of you dorks hold grudges against previous coaches for ridiculous reasons. Some were better than others, some worse, but none just destroying a football program except Collins. They are all gone; let it go.

I think what is different now is Cabrera. He can participate in the interview process to layout his plan, vision and support to candidates we interview. I imagine previous presidents not even bothering to participate in the interview process. I may be falling for it all over again but I think for the first time in maybe ever, the Hill/Admin and the GTAA are on the same page.

No, the Folks Against Geoff were the option first crew who were pissed that we didn’t get Monken or another option guy and did the same temper tantrum öööö that people are doing now over potential coaches. They sought to undermine him and push him out before he even got started.

A significant portion of our fan base would rather be right than have a football team that wins games.

I hope expectations are tempered after the fiasco we endured. Tech will never be a football powerhouse again. Those who remember the 50s are likely passed away by now. Since then. we've had the 1 NC in 1990. Even then, we only went to the Citrus Bowl in Orlando and played against a multiple loss Nebraska team.

I hope those fans that were unhappy with 7 win seasons and bowling every year realize that the alternative is 3 win seasons and being the joke of college football.

Not asking for anything from anyone. I support the coach and when they underperform to my liking I call em out. Done it to everyone. I give them the benefit of the doubt first though. 1 or 2 seasons was too soon to call CGC out. It just never got better.

Didn't you defend Pnope right up until he was let go?
