KING OUT? - Nah King is back baby.

First you make a definitive statement. Then you admit to having no clue.

Why would you think my first statement is fact since the action would occur in the future? I’m not clairvoyant.

I don’t think it’s fact. And I don’t think you’re clairvoyant. But when you say “he will go to the highest bidder”, it seems that you do think you’re clairvoyant. If you don’t know anything, don’t put that bullshit out there like you know something.

I have no idea whether King will stay or go but if we have reached the point where a guy like King who seems to be a Tech guy through and through is nothing more than a mercenary for hire then my interest in all of this will have waned such that the concept of being a tech man has essentially become worthless and in the end this is no different than the NFL where we are essentially rooting for uniforms and the college game as far as any sort of tradition is 100% dead.

It’s called an opinion. Look into it. Sorry I didn’t start the sentence with “I think”.

I don't think there's even been a rumor of him wanting to leave. The only things I have heard are Coach Key saying how special King is and how he is a Tech man, and King saying how much he loves Coach Key.

You are so dead on point. Many may still disagree but many already agree.

You think Bo Nix didn’t love Auburn? Bags of cash have a powerful effect on people.

If King continues to be limited due to a shoulder injury, most teams won't pursue him in the off-season. Shoulders are notoriously difficult to recover from, and it might require some surgery and a lot of physical therapy in the winter. I think he's a tough competitor and will fight through it, but staying at Tech will be his best option. For us, that might be the silver lining to this injury.

King is awesome when operating at full capacity. Seems like a huge risk for a team to throw lots of money at him given his recent injury and limitations. I hope he can help lead us to the promised land next season, and in Athens in a few weeks.

They do, I just don't think anyone is throwing bags of cash at a QB who hasn't been able to throw the ball downfield all season. I could believe he would get some offers, but not the type that we wouldn't be able to handle.

No chance. He's not going to get any massive offers, and he loves the situation here. We'll be able to put up the money to keep him.
He will 100% get some big offers. He absolutely loves GT/Key/Weinke/Faulkner though and next year could be massive for GT if he stays. Nearly all of the offensive skill players back around him, healthy Seither and Long, more favorable schedule, etc. I think we'll match most any offer out there for him to stay unless somebody with Texas money throws a ridiculously stupid number at him.

I think it was on purpose. Reason is that after they were on field together, Philo had to run to sideline to get a radio helmet. Only one on field allowed at a time.
They were on the field together on purpose. Philo did have to go change helmets after the play to get his radio helmet back. Not sure if that was some wrinkle but somebody told me that King's helmet com quit working and he couldn't hear so they sent Philo in with the play and just had to wing it at RB for a down. We didn't really have a spare RB at that time to grab and send a play in.

Nix going to Oregon was a mutual decision to leave Auburn. And it worked out big time for both Oregon and Nix.

Like you, I really think King is a perfect fit for someone like Oregon. Gabriel is a 1 year plan. Not to say he will leave, but if people think King won’t get offers from other high level P5 programs in December, you’re fooling yourself.

King clearly can’t push the ball downfield. I’m obviously happy that we won the game, but our 2 QB approach somewhat telegraphs run vs pass.

Is there any chance he’s back to normal this season? Do we roll with just Philo against NCST to give King more time prior to UGA? It’s a risk, but I legit think we can beat NCST with Philo.
I think it's something you can work with though. There was a handoff from Philo to Alexander where Alexander went about 15 yards untouched because our WR ran the CB (who was expecting a pass) downfield.

Bo Nix was probably tired of Auburn fans blaming him for everything

King doesn’t really have that problem at Tech

If King gets offered big money then I won't fault him for leaving. This is the new college football atmosphere. Big time schools don't want to put in the time to develop a QB in house. It is cheaper and more reliable for a coach to have alumni throw money at a proven QB unless the coach is at FSU and the QB is more hype than substance.

King has guts and is obviously a team player unlike a QB we had recently that decided to sit out and not play when called upon.
