Media reporting

Check out the article link in the first post in this thread. Basically says we probably won’t win much more than 3 games next year (a good chance of that), but that we need to lay off Collins and let him do his magic.
Oh I saw that, and agree. I think we win 2 honestly (1 at home) We got lucky against Duke, and luckily dominated UNC because they did what GT did against Citadel and thought they'd win by just wearing Helmets. Unfortunately, our HC and AD appear to be the culprits albeit their helmets are soft and have non functional chinstraps. I'm guessing they arrive with a Thermos of Chocolate Milk on deck

Winning more than Collins isn’t the bar and shouldn’t be used to deify this asshole
What's the bar on keeping this asshat? Besides your constant defending of lackluster performance coupled with bashing a coach that did IN FACT win here with dick talent and fairly consistently. Was it 9/10 wins a year, NO, but he managed 3 against our arch rival and I believe had a +.500 record on Clemson. Tell us how Collins' taint taste rolls off your palate? It's the wrong forum but I'm assuming you believe Pastner is a great coach too

which is better than having them stop before he started coaching

So what is Collins's biggest win to date? Was it UNC? Gailey had some big wins @Auburn, @ND, @Miami, and Auburn @home come to mind. Even Curry had some big wins like ND 1980 (a tie but I'm counting it), Bama @ Legion Field; during years when we stunk. It is time for Collins to have one those WTH wins like Curry did.

Honest question here...how do you think Johnson would have continued to fare against the modern iterations of UG/CU/ND? I guess what I'm asking is how much goodwill do the earlier wins buy if things continued as they were going? I think he'd have a decent shot at beating CU last year but I can't see the overall results being different regardless of whether Johnson or Collins was coaching. The points against may look better with a slower offense but they're still L's.

CPJ or CCG would have done better than 9 wins in 3 seasons. I don't think winning the Coastal in one of those 3 seasons is out of the question with either of them.

I think he would have fared OK against Notre Dame.
Against Clemson, and that D line, probably not so much. Few people have had success against them the last couple of years. From 2016-19, they were top five every year in scoring defense. That's pretty damn stout.
Then again, sooner or later, they get tired of someone getting a helmet to their knee every play.
While we certainly struggled in 17 and 18 especially against Georgia, their defense was pretty loaded in 16 (Roquan Smith, Trenton Thompson, etc) and we scored 28 on them, including going 95 yards in the fourth quarter on one drive.
I don't know that the offense was slower the last two years. Taquon could scoot. The difference was we were less effective in the passing game. And that's really being kind.
And behind Taquon was James Graham, who had some wheels. We would have had Cottrell and Ohmari Jarrett coming back at A back and both those guys could run too. Plus, Benson had been a state track champ (IIRC) and he might have come back at B back, along with Mason and Howard.
You win a state track title in Georgia, regardless of classification, you can motor.

I live, just outside of Atlanta and even the sports radio stations, hardly spend an hour a week, on GT sports. They have a whole segment dedicated to the Dwags and they aren't even in the ATL. If you cannot gain attention, from media in your own city, how are you supposed to gain any outside, your own city??

I'd figure he would've at least showed up since that group basically hung 250+s plus on us in the last 2 seasons. That's the problem. He's a defensive guru and can't stop a nose bleed. The losses would be there but one thing CPJ had on the opposing coaches ... Respect. And Tech was never taken for granted because even his TO gave us a fighting chance. If only due to time mgmt

6. Georgia Tech
With a 9-25 mark over the last three years, it’s no secret coach Geoff Collins enters the ’22 season squarely on the hot seat. In addition to a roster that returns only four starters, an unforgiving schedule is on tap featuring non-conference matchups against Georgia, Ole Miss and UCF, along with ACC crossover games versus Clemson and Florida State. For the Yellow Jackets to take a step forward, more consistency is needed at quarterback from Jeff Sims (12 TDs, 7 INTs last season). And if Sims struggles, two transfers in Zach Gibson (Akron) and Taisun Phommachanh (Clemson) are waiting to push for snaps. Although Jahmyr Gibbs transferred to Alabama, the running back room is still in good shape with Dontae Smith, Hassan Hall and Buffalo transfer Dylan McDuffie. However, just one starter returns up front, and the receiving corps brings back a single player that caught more than 15 passes (Malachi Carter) last fall. Major improvement is needed on a defense that has ranked 13th or worse in the ACC in points allowed in each of Collins’ three years at the helm. Linebacker Charlie Thomas is the unit’s top player, but he will be playing with a lot of new faces as just one other starter returns and major turnover was experienced up front and in the secondary.

Georgia Tech Football Preview '22
Jun 6, 2022 Optimism and the glass half full are two terms that may apply to Georgia Tech's football team this fall. New coaches, transfer portal players and an aggressive approach to offense may help the Yellow Jackets start turning the corner this season even with a tough schedule. Kelly Quinlan, the Publisher of JacketsOnline.com joins us to talk GT football.

Yeah a defensive guru teaching techniques like tackling high to create fumbles. On the UNC scoring drive we made Spam Howell look like a Heisman trophy caliber running back. Luckily for us, Howell didn't know where to go with the ball after his first read was covered.
No doubt CPJ or CCG would have fared better than Geoff. Three wins a season is a very low bar.

Sure are a lot of homosexual references coming from those that hate Collins. You and Carson Newman should really hook up. Let go of some of those inner urges that y’all seem to be projecting on everyone else.

Not sure why someone who appears to be no more than an ND student deserves any audience, but I don't disagree with a thing he says.
Agreed....his in depth analysis is nothing more than picking Ws and Ls based on last years results based on Gibbs leaving. That being said I don't put much stock in an opinion from a chubby frat boy living in his mom's basement.

Nah, that's the difference. No urges here, why? Did I hit a nerve? Poor bastard can't hear Taint without a Trigger warning. GeoffsTaintWannaBee

Exactly, these dipsticks are hanging their hat on a Neutral Underdog Win against a below .500 team. And we wonder why Tech Fans get ridiculed. That's why. Living in 1990 but playing like 93/94. I öööö you not, I'd sign Bill Lewis before this clown. Lewis had a higher winning percentage here .. facts are f'n facts
