Well there you go.
@GT flunkout made the claim during the tailgate that we will be ranked number 1 as the only 2-0 team after we beat state. Of course now he claims he never said that. We’re introducing VAR cameras to the tailgate as a result.
The guy from Charlottesville has us at 15I see 4 votes for us at 18. Anyone with better eyes see anything higher?
Those are good stats for the Jackets. Maybe FSU had a hangover in game two kind of like we did except FSU never did shake the cobwebs loose. We actually played FSU better than BC IMO. FSU played a good clean game against us. They had multiple miscues, overthrows, drops, dumb penalties, turnovers, looked like they didn't want to be there, etc. against BC.
Against FSU:
Yards per rush: GT 5.3 / BC 5.1
Yards per pass attempt: GT 9.1 / BC 6.6
Yards per play: GT 6.5 / BC 5.4
Defensive yards per play: GT 5.0 / BC 5.1
Defensive TFL's: GT 7 / BC 4
We were better in every category even when FSU played a much better game against us. Don't forget the scores could have been different also. We missed a long but makeable FG and FSU made two very long ones. That would have been a 9 point swing if we make ours and they miss their two. Our game with them looks a lot different if the score was 27-15 which it very easily could have been with the exact same stat lines.
Highest I found was 15I see 4 votes for us at 18. Anyone with better eyes see anything higher?
Well both BC and GA State had the entire offseason to prepare for what was likely the biggest game of the season to each of them. On top of that they also had actual game film from this year to break down, and their opponents were coming back from an international trip. Both BC and GA State also have new head coaches so previous year's game film would have only really been good for player analysis. Pretty decent advantage for both going into the games. Those are good stats for the Jackets. Maybe FSU had a hangover in game two kind of like we did except FSU never did shake the cobwebs loose.
Norvell responseWow, pretty interesting data here.
If you take FSU's first drive against GT out of the equation, before we adjusted, the games looked pretty similar offensively and defensively. They had about the same rushing yards against us after the first drive as they had against BC. And BC had tape of our adjustments that worked
DJU and the FSU receivers performed a lot better against us, and from what I saw a lot of that had little to do with the BC and GT defenses. DJ hit open receivers against us and they caught the ball. He was crazily inaccurate against BC even with open receivers, and then they had the drops. Because DJ and the receivers played better against us, FSU held the ball equal time against us instead of getting doubled up on in TOP like against BC. Their D was completely worn out by the end of the BC game, and I think much more demoralized than against us b/c now it was two consecutive games of not being able to stop the run whatsoever.
Another thing is that Norvell made one of the dumbest coaching calls I've ever seen against BC going for a 4th and 5 on his own side of the field early in the second half on a night when his QB was colder than a polar bear's toenails. He didn't do anything nearly that stupid against us.
This.

Cristobal will figure out a way to keep that from happening for da U.We will likely play 3 (more) Top 10 teams this season: uga, Notre Dame, Miami
yep. UGA and Miami will probably be top 5. They both look like it.We will likely play 3 (more) Top 10 teams this season: uga, Notre Dame, Miami
We'll be undefeated when ND comes to town.I'm not sure who you are thinking about but I would Wesay 5-2 might be a disappointment going into ND. I'm not really sure what team would even be favored over us before we get to ND.
That sounds awesome, what about 12-0? Can you do that one next?yep. UGA and Miami will probably be top 5. They both look like it.
10-2 may get us in the playoff. 11-1 definitely does.
We will not finish the season 10-2 or 11-1.yep. UGA and Miami will probably be top 5. They both look like it.

If you think it's a given that 10-2 would get us into the playoff, you haven't been watching ACC football. That sounds awesome, what about 12-0? Can you do that one next?
