official 2009/ 2010 recruiting thread

Not sure of all the rules involved... but a full baseball ride is unlikely. Baseball is only alloted ~12 scholarships for the entire squad. Many players only get 1/4 or 1/2 scholarship or something even lower like "books only."

I thought I read somewhere a few years ago that Tex was the only GT player to get a full baseball scholarship.

I have a question about this Eddie Printz kid. I remember seeing him last year as being in the class of 2012, which I thought was amazing for a recruiting class that's so far away. Now he's 2013? Is this kid amazingly amazing or something?

any info on recruits responses to the UVA game? once the ACCCG is set in stone anyone think a particular recruit will commit? BTW Perkins seems to be a HUGE dark horse he reminds me of Anthony Allen in a way running hard with a good burst can you say STEAL!

What's going on with Oklahoma commit RB Roy Finch? Is he really wanting to switch to GT? Will we have room for him?

He had offers from virtually every major team in the South.

The last OU guy we got worked out pretty well. Of course he was a schollie player and not just a commit....but I'll take it if it's a repeat.

Some compiled questions I have for the insiders:

1) What are we doing about LBs? It worries me to see NO commits.

2) Previous class question: How are the following guys looking now -> JC Lanier, Jordan Luallen, Daniel Drummond (the guy weighs a lot and has a fast 40 time...he looks like he could be a beast at B-Back)?

3) Any other Redshirters we should see having a big impact next year?

4) It also seems like we do not have too many commits right now. Are there a lot of potentials holding out? Or have we lost a lot to other schools?

Because we have so few seniors this year, our scholarship availability for next year is lower than normal. Unless some scholarship players leave the program early (e.g., transfers, juniors entering draft, etc.) you won't see many more commits for 2010. We might have one or two slots left, but CPJ normally uses those to award worthy walk-ons.

I don't we sign any LB's. Synjyn Days will most likely end up there

I think Lanier is still out. He's going to make a big impact down the road. Luallen has been impressive running the scout team. Coaches said they were excited about both Sims and Luallen. Sims is finally almost at his target weight.

Our class is almost full. If we get anymore commits it will be Kareem Martin and/or Jordan Akins.

Or do we know if he would consider some kind of one-year walk-on agreement as we've heard rumored about other players? How bad does he want to come to GT?

I seriously doubt a player offered by virtually every major school in the South plus Oklahoma is going to come to GT and walk-on for a year. I maybe wrong though.
