Lol, stupid statement. It’s about preserving a year of eligibility for what loops like a a special player. I’m not sure how a totally logical long-term decision is wussing out. Also, we’d play Sims who is more than capable to hold it down in that game. This year’s Tech team isn’t beating this year’s UGA team. I’d rather have Pyron in the game in 2026 than 2022.We should just forfeit the Georgia game. That’s basically the mentality of some of you.
Wrong. A good coach will want to come when he knows he is inheriting a QB who has shown potential and has 4 years of eligibility. And a good coach will want come when he sees an AD committed to the program who doesn’t let an interim coach poison the program 4 years after he’s fired. Key is not the head coach. He is the interim coach. Big difference. You don’t let the interim coach make decisions that will affect the future of the program.Absolutely no good head coach will want to come under an AD that inserted himself into the management of redshirts. To even suggest such is asinine.

Yea, I don't get it. We are here to win now. We should try to win the rest of our games. All the games next season and so on. We should NEVER not put our best personnel on the field against UGAg. If it is Sims, play him. If it is Pyron, play him.We should just forfeit the Georgia game. That’s basically the mentality of some of you.
That is a different situation. If he were starting, I'd have been all for buring his redshirtWe burned Nesbitt's redshirt for a handful of wildcat plays. That was poor planning and I agree with you.

Different world now. If Pyron turns out to be real, real good, he will be in the NFL before year 5. If he turns out to be real good, he might be at Auburn or Alabama before year 5.We burned Nesbitt's redshirt for a handful of wildcat plays. That was poor planning and I agree with you.

This but unironically. We should go balls to the wall against the ACC teams we can compete against but there is no reason for a GT-UGA game this year. Do we really need to see them sleepwalk to a 38-0 win?We should just forfeit the Georgia game. That’s basically the mentality of some of you.
Not playing to win is "wussing out." There is no way to spin it that doesn't bring you right back to that conclusion.Lol, stupid statement. A good coach will bring in his own QB through the portal or recruiting. No matter how good Pyron is the rest of this year, there's no guaranteeing he plays 4 more years (or even 3 after his redshirt is burned). What is guaranteed is you set a precedence by having the AD step in and micro manage the roster. THAT is something you can't overcome.Wrong. And all this talk about throwing everything at UGA is just funny. Kirby can name the score of that game whether Pyron plays or not. They are at a level of football that we can’t even comprehend after watching our team play for 4 years. It took us 3 turnovers against a horrible team to win by a point.
I don’t think Pyron makes us better than Sims. I just think the dropoff isn’t as significant as it is from Sims to Gibson. He’s done very well and I like him a lot. Playing Sims wouldn’t be forfeiting…We should just forfeit the Georgia game. That’s basically the mentality of some of you.
I don’t think the players think Pyron is better than Sims right now. Maybe they do. I think they’re excited for him and for winning. I think they know we could be 5-4 at least if he was given his shot against UVA. But I doubt they would prefer him to Sims unless Sims is a giant douche. You can say that but the players aren't idiots. Everyone would know what was happening, especially since Pyron has shown to be quite good with his legs himself.
Nesbitt played in 11 games and helped us win a few (UNC for sure). Ran for 350 yards. That’s a really bad example of a wasted redshirt. We burned Nesbitt's redshirt for a handful of wildcat plays. That was poor planning and I agree with you.

Pyron still needs someone teaching him how to protect himself. He is not a small dude but the way he is taking the hits could be coached better. I am all for taking on defenders when the first down is on the line but you can position yourself better. If Pyron starts and plays well for the next two games, I'm not sure how you could ask anyone to suit up for the U[sic]GA game after saying you are holding him out since you know you're going to lose anyway. Sounds like a good way to lose the locker room and destroy any progress we've made in terms of building a winning culture in one fell swoop.
Why do you not mention that Key is head coach? I would agree with you if we had a head coach. We do not. We have an interim coach. You are talking as if Key’s control of the program is compromised if the AD gives him an order. Key is not the head football coach. GT does not have a head football coach. GT has an interim coach. There is zero precedence to be set in these circumstances. The next coach will be very happy to come in with at least one QB who has shown something on tape.A good coach will bring in his own QB through the portal or recruiting.
