Official Don’t Burn Pyron’s Shirt Petition

Pyron may have better upside, but Sims is the better QB right now. If Sims is healthy, he plays immediately. It would be better now and in the long run. If you burn Pyron's redshirt, he and Sims are a year apart for the next two years. You're likely to lose Pyron or Sims as soon as this offseason if that happens. That is not how you rebuild.

It's an interesting dilemma for Key. He is a candidate for the permanent HC position. Does he burn Pyron's RS to win the job, or RS him to demonstrate that he's already thinking like HC, because no HC would continue to play Pyron with a healthy Sims available.
Agree. If sims is healthy he gives us the best chance to win. If he doesn’t want to run, then ZP is better because he can get the ball out on time from the pocket.

Not sure spacing between sims/ZP classes really matters. Jeff is gone when the season is over.

Only need to sit Pyron for one remaining game in order to maintain the RS. I say make it the one we have no chance of winning.

We should draw straws to decide the QB against the dwags. The loser has to play.

I've only been posting here a couple of years, so some of you old farts are gonna have to help me out here.

Is this the dumbest thread in Stingtalk history?

Not even close. There's actual rational discussion in this thread.

Bump. Don’t burn it. Season over. Maybe get that bum Sims back out in the field for a few plays.

Gibson doesn’t belong on a P5 field
I hear the Clemson transfer doesn’t either
Tell me again why they are getting a free GT education?

Absolutely no good head coach will want to come under an AD that inserted himself into the management of redshirts. To even suggest such is asinine.
The next coach will be grateful to Batt for keeping Pyron’s shirt intact. Key is an idiot interim HC. No real HC would have any problem with this and again, would be grateful to keep his full eligibility. To suggest otherwise is asinine. ;)

Not playing to win is "wussing out." There is no way to spin it that doesn't bring you right back to that conclusion.
Insert Tom Brady from five years ago as our starter against the mutts and we still lose to them. But some here will claim we can maybe win if Pyron has a great game. Deluded.

I'll bite. What skills did you see him lacking in the two games he's played? Keeping in mind he's a true freshman so he's not polished yet. Which part of his natural talent do you think is so bad he cannot be the future?
Slow....to start. Poor footwork. Average, at best, arm. Can't throw the deep ball. Bad timing on slants and out routes. Lack of football IQ. Poor pocket presence. Just observations. Maybe, with the right coach, he will be average. But, we need better.

I’m not seeing the reasoning here. He’s played pretty good for a true frosh.
Maybe your expectations are much lower than mine. I want above average or better. I am seeing much different things. Poor mechanics, lack of field awareness and lack of arm are hard things to correct.
