Official post-game bitch session

OK. So you’ve ignored numerous questions. But I’ll ask an easy one again.

Provide some realistic better HC options GT can go for? Keep in mind how the last 2 HC searches turned out interest wise. 2/3 from 2022 took/stayed at non P4 jobs at the time.
Tech can't go for JACK öööö as long as Angel Cabrera low balls the HC salary. Are we the cheapest mother ööööers in the entire ACC? Frankly, Tech athletics would be better off if we could fire Angel Cabrera and hire former PGA Pro Angel Cabrera now that he is out of prison.

GT isn’t a 6-7 win team? Did you really expect more than that when looking at the schedule? Anyone who thought GT was more than that before week 0 was running off hope vs reality. The team is still rebuilding from the mess. 2025 was always highlighted as the prove it year based on recruiting and schedule.
I'm not as confident as you are that this team is going to get 6-7 wins. Even if we get King back from here on.

I had to delete a few posts tagging Pyron’s dad. I didn’t issue any bans. Know how to not act like dumbass georgia fans please.

Pyron had a bad day, and he may not be the answer we thought. But the guy is tough and he is he is loyal to Georgia Tech. He doesn’t deserve shade thrown his way. Philo did look better and I think he should have been given an earlier shot, but have some some class with what you post knowing that Pyron Sr is one of us.

You are like the bleeding vagina version of a GT football fan. So predictable. Whine and cry after every loss. Grow a pair dude.
Getting beat is one thing when you play hard and it just doesn’t go your way. we are a long way from that right now. We are playing like complete ass again and beating ourselves due to lack of discipline and questionable coaching. Sorry I’m unwilling to accept that like you apparently are.

we have a decent team. Should’ve banked 1 more win earlier against Syracuse or Louisville. Either one was winnable. Shouldn’t have gone 1-3 in our ACC road games so far. The King injury is tough but shouldn’t have broken the offense. Something is not right and I hope it’s not too much meddling from BK. We look vastly less explosive than last year with almost everyone important having an extra year in the offense.

The age old saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. Everyone knows that Key was not Batt's first (or second) choice. He was here, he was cheap, he coached under O'Leary and Saban, and he loves Tech. If King had not gotten hurt, we would be a mediocre team playing in our second mediocre bowl game following the worst coach since Lewis. Not bad, not great. You get what you pay for.
You're going to öööö when you find out how much we paid coaches such as Collins and Hewitt.

16-14? That's your ööööing standard? Really? 16-14? öööö THAT LOW EXPECTATIONS HAVING LOSER öööö RIGHT THERE.

And "if GT can hold onto this class and get some Portal additions, next year is a 9 win season" is pure HORSE öööö. NO ONE holds onto their class. Not Bama. Not t-OSU. EVERYONE loses folks. Might as well say "if Margot Robbie shows up nekked at my front door, Tech will win the Nattie next year," since you're talking about impossible öööö that will never happen.
16-14 in 2 years in which he started midseason during a mess is pretty good. CBK has 1 real recruiting class to date. So yes, holding onto a Top 20 class (in his 2nd class as HC) and adding through the Portal is key to elevating the program starting in 2025. Find it funny how you complain about 16-14, but don’t look at the opponents during that time. Since CBK has been HC, GT has 1 bad loss. BGSU.

Using Bama, tOSU, Texas, etc as an example of losing recruits holds no water. They will just replace 1 4-5* with another committed elsewhere. GT, Pitt, SMU, etc type programs don’t have that luxury of easily flipping high level commits.

Your solution to upgrading the GT program is to do what again? There are only a handful of people who can truly fix the problem. And you, I and everyone else know, those people will never drop admission requirements for that to happen.

The thing is, this year's recruiting class probably won't develop fast enough to be a make or break aspect of keeping Key around or not. Bringing in talent is great (assuming it does happen), but with limitless portal there's no guarantee any of them stick around long enough to contribute meaningfully. Pretty sure we lost a guy once for having a good spring game, so significant on field contribution may not even be necessary.

That’s my main issue right now. I’m tired of hearing about our “harder schedule”. That was largely predicated on FSU not being complete ass. We went 5-3 in the ACC last year in a dumpster fire situation and now we’re 3-3 staring down a likely 3-5 while dodging Pitt and Clemson

Our reality is being a middle-of-the-pack team in an ACC that currently has four ranked teams in Miami, Clemson, Pitt, and SMU.

At 3-3 in conference play, 5-4 overall, we have played none of those ranked teams, though we do have Miami up next.

I typically have positive expectations because we are in the ACC. We’ve lost to Syracuse, Louisville, and now VPI in conference. Of the losses I think Louisville was the strongest opponent, who sits at 3-2 in-conference with Clemson and @Pitt still to be played.

Today was a winnable game and would have been a win with King, who obviously is the heart and soul of our running game, not to mention we are without Efford.

I’m all over the place with this post. It’s frustration on my part. I just want to win winnable football games. We did not accomplish that today.

Even before the injury, King wasn't putting up nearly the numbers I expected, though he was taking care of the ball better. Just really conservative and unimaginative, it feels like to me.

This is what I don't get, Singleton is the best player on the field every time our offense lines up and Haynes^2 + Malik(sans the dropsies today) are better than most of the defenses we've played and we have looked pedestrian all year

That’s going to be the issue going forward until the Portal & NIL cap are implemented. But CBK can only control what he can from a roster standpoint. Going to have to use the Portal to fill in the gaps. At this point every roster is only guaranteed 1 year. GT needs to ensure they keep the 4* front 7 D committed and in school for 2+ years.

Reality is, GT could lose King, Singleton, etc to the Portal in December. Just have to have a plan in place to keep the program going in the right direction.

King was a low risk, high reward Portal addition due to his injuries at TAMU, and it 100% worked out in GT’s favor. I have a feeling someone like Oregon may come calling in December.

I hear you and get it. But when a team breaks thru you can see glimpses of it coming in the years prior. We have seen nothing like that. We have simply had bad loss after bad loss. We have not had 1 moral victory loss since UGA last year. We looked simply outmatched and outcoached in every loss this year. That does not bode well for next year as other teams we face next year are seeing glimpses of success.

USC, please don’t tell me you actually believe a NIL cap will stop the top teams from acquiring as much talent as they want. If the NCAA rule of “no payments” didn’t stop them how can anyone believe a rule of “a 20 million dollar cap” will. They’ll just go back to their old ways once they hit the legal cap.
