Official postgame: We WON!!!!

I was thinking, they should guard the goal posts and the sidelines. That way the refs can get to the sideline and then leave by the tunnel and the other team can do the same.

On the band (current band parent): they were told not to play by AA, band director told the band; said there was a safety concern given all the people on the field or so many students in the stands.

We heard they “shut it down” if field is stormed. It could have been that given how long the students took to get off the field that the stadium crew wanted everyone to leave so they could go home.

The hurt UNC player was put in an Ambulance that was parked in the tunnel (under North stands. The people leaving the field got in the way and then got stuck when that happened.

Would have been better if they had been in the middle of the field. FWIW.
I’m pretty sure that reason is correct because I remember being pissed the horse wasn’t played after a previous field-storming and that was the reason I heard at the time. (Maybe FSU 2015?)

I think it sucks. Some of my best memories from the band were playing to the students on the field after a big win. (Preferably as they were marching the goalposts out of the stadium.)

The field was cleared of all students. It looked like the band was going to play it and then someone in an official capacity told them no. It was dumb. The cheerleaders mimed it anyway.

How long after the game did you stay in the stadium? I was watching the ACC Huddle post game show (it was after they had ushered all the students out of the stadium) and Kelsey Riggs made a statement at some point that she was confused at what was going on behind her... she said the band was playing and folks were running around everywhere in the stands and on the field like a fire drill or something... they never showed any of it, but I was thinking to myself at that point.. they're playing the horse.

I left around the time the cheerleaders started doing Horse without the band playing. Maybe they eventually played it after everybody was gone, but the stands were mostly empty when we left.

The band played for 10 minutes or so but then stopped when the announcer told everyone to leave the field. There was another 10/15 minutes or so. As others said, the field was clear and the cheerleaders did the dance without the band so it was stupid to not let the band play.

We saw the band director go up the podium and then the band members started leaving.

This was waaaaay after that. Probably 45 mins later.

Never played the horse, but the cheerleaders did the run around. We left as the band was walking down the stairs to leave and a security fella was ordering us to leave - yay victory!

Keeping the band from playing just because there are fans on the field is proof our AA hates us.

I could feel the upper north moving from my seats due to the students. I made the comment in a thread on here that if it collapsed I was gonna ride it down Bugs Bunny style.
The student section was absolutely rocking the house.

I still wonder if it has to do with tge royalties of the song and the ACC Huddle taping and broadcasting. That makes the most sense.

The students were gone and the band was still there. Crappy move by whoever made the decision

Fair use on their video. They don't have to pay öööö. It is the same thing cops were trying to do when people recorded them until it was legally determined it didn't matter if a cop was playing music or not. Public recording in public.

We were 10-12 rows of fans behind the ambulance. The back doors to the ambulance finally closed, it drove off and when it was out of sight we all went out. I didn't see anyone going out ahead of the ambulance, but I guess it's possible several snuck out somehow when I wasn't looking. Security had it pretty well under control from what I saw.

Fair enough enough. I was in the stands. Could see that area, what I saw was the ambulance having a hard time turning around and thought it might have wanted to drive into the stadium.

I assumed a few left before the ambulance started turning around.
