Playoffs?

What really hurt FSU was Louisville crapping the bed against Kentucky last week. That (ugly) win against them last night would have looked a lot better if that didn’t happen.
Indeed. That was definitely used against them. To which I would say: Alabama vs Auburn Who lost to NM State??? Rivalry games are wild.

If you were an FSU fan, what would you want you band to spell out for their bowl game at halftime? For a message to the BCS or ESPN

You talk out of both sides of your mouth constantly. Good lord.

You continually say “ooooo FSU” constantly, and now you’re upset? And if they went to the Rose Bowl and lost 26-0 like Iowa did last night, you would be right back to saying “ooooo FSU”.

The 2 programs I despise the most are UGA, Bama. And everyone can thank freaking Auburn for today. They are the only 2 teams I root to lose every week.

I’m a GT, USC fan. Not a freaking conference fan. Who gives a flying eff about conferences right now? They are much pretty toast anyway. Look at what starts next year. I don’t yell “ACC, ACC, ACC” or “P12, P12, P12” from the rooftops when someone wins.
Because a conference is GT’s only shot at being good. And right now ESPN and the SEC are attempting to kill it. The Big 12 did pretty well navigating the SEC raids taking some good Pac XII teams. The ACC is teetering on the edge and GT is not as attractive as some might think if it comes down too only a few more seats at the table.

Exactly. If we can attach ourselves to FSU and Clemson and make it a package deal type of thing, I think that’s our best shot.

A TE is not a QB. The QB controls the offense. Not the TE. Take the emotion out of it for a moment. Heck, had it been FSU losing the RB, this wouldn’t have been an issue. FSU would be #4 even with the close losses.

"Take the emotion out of it?"

WTF?

The entire POINT of spectator sports is EMOTION!

You do realize what "fan" is short for, don't you?

F$U beat LSU by 21 points on a neutral field. Bama only beat them by 14 at home just a few weeks ago.

They used the Jordan Travis injury to keep F$U out, period. IF F$U had been able to play their backup QB last night and had won by a couple of more TDs as a result, it would have been harder to lock them out. Having to play with a true freshman THIRD team QB really ööööed them in the end.

As far as the "best four teams" bull öööö, they betrayed themselves there by putting F$U ahead of the team that shall not be named AND tOSU. There is NO WAY that the current F$U team would be favored on a neutral field aganst either the team that shall not be named or tOSU.

Once again, the the ööööers in Charge have royally ööööed college football fans.

I hate those ööööers.
And to prove my point, the initial line I'm seeing for the Orange Bowl matchup between the team that shall not be named and F$U has the team that shall not be named, which they ranked sixth, laying 12 to the team they ranked fifth. Laying 12 points!

Ranking them by best teams my red ass.

How does UT move up 4 spots with a win against a mediocre opponent? All that on margin of victory?
No.

They HAD to move them to three so they could put the SEC team that they beat, Bama, at four. Which they were going to do come hell or high water. They needed a fig leaf.

When teams weren’t going willy nilly switching conferences, I always thought we should have a 6 team playoff. Win your conference and you are in, then add a plus one. Regardless of how people feel, next year will be different with the expanded playoff.

The question was somewhat rhetorical.

Yes. Fanatic. But I could care less about FSU in general. I’m not an FSU fan.

I feel bad that an injury cost them a chance to win a MNC, but there’s nothing that can be done about it at this point. I blame Jim Phillips for being 1 of 3 commissioners (ACC, B1G, P12) for not allowing the 12 team CFP to start this year. That’s who FSU should be most angry at. How did that conference pact workout for the ACC, P12?

Someone should ask Kirby Dumb to say which of the four teams should have been removed so dwags could get in. I would really love to see that piece of öööö boxed in to answer that.

I could GAF about F$U. It's not about them. Everything is not about my own selfish interests.

Principally, I'm a fairness and anti-corruption fan. This is an unfair result based on a sport corrupted by money. Those coaches, kids, students, and fans at F$U got screwed IMO. I would feel the same way even if they screwed Notre Dame (which I hate) or the team that shall not be named. Right is right. They deserved better.

When it comes to college football, I guess William Munny was right.

Every single point you made is 1000% correct. The kids are who got screwed the most by a bad system with flawed logic. I agree whole heartedly.

FSU has a chance to split the MNC by beating uga and seeing a 1 loss Texas or Bama winning. I can see the AP / Coaches voting FSU #1.

Posted by an FSU fan on Reddit, and spot on IMO:

Last 3 weeks are mirror images for Bama and FSU. 3 weeks ago-

FSU QB is hurt mid game while trailing 0-13. With backup they outscore Northern Alabama 55-0 for the rest of the game. Alabama beats Chattanooga 66-10

Alabama plays 6 win in-state rival auburn and wins with a 4th and 30 at the buzzer. FSU fields backup QB and beats 5 win in-state rival Florida on the road by two scores.

Alabama beats #1 Georgia by a field goal FSU beats #18 Louisville by 2 scores.

The Noles defense held the 18th ranked offense in the country to 6 points, with a 3rd string QB. The team won every game and proved they can stop any offense. They won by double digits with backups and 3rd stringers in tough environments.

There is no reasonable take to have Alabama overtake FSU. Noles outscored opponents 95-24 since Travis injury.

The silver lining is Noles get Georgia. Win that game and watch Texas weak defense get wrecked while Michigan dog walks Bama and claim the national title with a #1 AP rank.
