Maybe an odd analogy, but it is a good thing that MLB didn't sideline the Braves in 2021 because of key injuries.

It's a part of what makes professional sports professional. College sports is maybe the only sports entity in the world that chases the bullshit idea of putting "best team" (as subjectively/theoretically determined by people) first

I'm going to get a GT national championship ring made. We would've beat UGA if those 2 passes Singleton caught weren't OOB and the interception wasn't called back. Close enough. Eye test is all that matters.
 
Watching the ESPN bowl selection show, it’s very evident how strong the conference affiliation mindset is with everyone. It’s been brought up multiple time in the 10 minutes I have had it on. One of the host even orated, “Big 2” beginning next season.

They want a team from the SEC in the playoffs.
 
The CFP Comiittee just annouced Alabama as 2023-2024 National Champions at 2:42 today based on how they looked - their tough SEC schedule makes waiting any longer unnecessary.

Or the live commentary echoing over the games the committee is suppose to watch before making their decisions.
 
And for the record, regardless of how we feel and I hate to admit it - the cesspool won the last two championships and haven’t lost in a long time. Alabama definitely has the most impressive win of the top 4 teams.
