Sure, we might stink, but we have some newcomers, transfers that can make an impact and some outstanding freshman, talent wise, I think we are at the top of the acc, that being said, I think we go 3-9 with wins against Duke, WCU, and UCF, Clemson blows us out, FSU’s defense makes Sims look silly, UGA shuts us out again, and Virginia tech smacks us into the turf at Lane Stadium

I see anywhere from 2 wins to 5. We miss another bowl game!

L- Clemson
W- WCU
L- Ole Miss
L-UCF
L-Pitt
W-Duke
L- Virginia
Toss- FSU
Toss- VT
L- Miami
Toss- UNC
L- UGA

UCF is a toss in my opinion, a lot of their starters aren’t returning and they haven’t been recruiting that well, Virginia I think is also a toss, lots of websites have us favored in that game but of course it also preaseason projections

I agree but I also think there is a small chance we go bowling, Collins knows that he sucks, he knows that he is on the hottest seat in America, and he knows the players have questions about the program, but, I think there is a little bit of hope considering our “tough schedule” only has 3 guaranteed loses, with the rest being toss ups

I really wished I could disagree.. However; I am picking a 3, maybe 4, win season. If we get that 4th win, it will come against FSU or VT. We may beat UVA... But, they are trending up and we aren't. I think Collins' most important game is WCU. Hear me out.. If we lose, he should be fired immediately. If we barely win, the seat will become hot, very fast. If he breezes by them, his supporters will continue on, about how "great" he is... But, I am picking 3 wins too... Just not feeling anything different.

I am feeling different but I don’t think that difference will be enough, watching the GT Duke game from last year on replay, sims just got picked off, again

Sure, we might stink,

Just for discussion, regarding "the hottest seat," is it he really? For that to be the case, we would have to facing a massive mismatch of demands and expectations vs the actual results. Among our fan base, compared to the rabid nature of some schools, how demanding of football excellence is there at our program? If it was truly high, would we have allowed the overall nature of our recruiting, facilities, attendance, and revenue to reach this paltry level? We have put up with mediocrity and irrelevance for about a generation now... If we were a program that was truly all about football excellence, demanding a coach that could compete and achieve with the best, is there a chance that we might have seen some vigorous signs of that by now? Is there a chance that many could be accepting our lot and think that all is OK if we pull out 5 wins, a total that many appear to think would be a good year, and would that imply we're a school that truly demands great athletic results compared to if we happened to win one or two less? What would it take for many to rationalize that ole Geoff is about as good as we can get and maybe somehow things will be better next year? I guess I'm not yet convinced that compared to some schools, such as Auburn, that the frying pan will be imminently searing...... :ugh: Rationalizing vs demanding.... In which camp are we?

I don't think Collins is in as much of a "hot seat", as we may think. He has fooled enough people and fooled enough of the "right people". I am 100% sure that the strength of schedule, will be used as an excuse / crutch. I think it comes down to how badly we lose games. Meaning.. We lose to Ole Miss, UGA and Clemson is disastrous blow outs, I think he is done. However; if we give just one of those teams a good game, he will use that as ammo, along with his disciples (I mean supporters).. I agree it's a rough schedule. But, I want to see us lose, very narrowly to the teams, we are supposed to lose to. I want us to win the games, we are supposed to. I further want to see us split the toss up games.. If we do that, we should reach 5 wins. No... will not be a bowl qualifying team...but, I would at least feel that we progressed. On a side note... I have 0 faith in Collins and foresee another disaster of a season. But stranger things have happened...

As for my predictions? Feeling 3 wins

L- Clemson 31-10
W- WCU 35-0
L- Ole Miss 55-10
L-UCF 31-24
L-Pitt 28-24
W-Duke 31-18
L- Virginia 24-20
L- FSU 31-28
W- VT 24-21
L- Miami 45-17
L- UNC 38-20
L- UGA
48-7

Putting best guesses in for scores. I think Ole Miss and UGA run us into the ground. Clemson will be a meh loss.. I think Duh U beats us bad also.. My toss ups. VT, FSU and UNC? I think we beat VT, barely... We should be close to UCF..

We win 6. Lose a meaningless bowl. Geff gets extended. This board melts down.

Toss - Clemson
W - WCU
L - Ole Miss
W - UCF
L - Pitt
W - Duke
W - Virginia
Toss - FSU
Toss - VT
Toss - Miami
Toss - UNC
L - UGA

4 wins. 3 Losses. 5 toss ups. Feeling pretty good if we’re at 4+ wins heading into November. Collins’ teams seem to perform better on the road than at home against similar levels of competition.
