He was more poised than Gibson, especially for a guy in his first college game.
Gibson's worst enemy is gravity.

His hits as a wr in the nfl will be much worse than his current sacks. His speed. His length. General athletic ability. Should have decent hands. Knows the route trees, or should. So shouldn’t be too difficult to learn how to run the routes. The game is simpler for a WR and he probably would take fewer hard hits. Worth exploring unless he’s not open to it. Definitely his best shot at making a pro team.
How much?I bet Jeff never plays another down for GT.
Tree fiddy.How much?
Don't you put that evil on usHe looked fine. Remember, Taylor Bennett looked great in his first game.
He would have kept looking great with Calvin Johnson to throw to.He looked fine. Remember, Taylor Bennett looked great in his first game.
Guess I'm still drunk cause I still think we can beat VT, Maimi, and uncI just want to win.
I like the way you drink.Guess I'm still drunk cause I still think we can beat VT, Maimi, and unc
The level of incompetence in every facet of this program is just laughable. From recruiting, to game management, to game prep, to the coaching part is just unbelievable. I fully expect a lame duck staff to play Pyron 5 games so our 2026 season goes to crap. I hope our AD stops this insanity. I like Key, but after seeing how our backup QB played last week was the end for me. They knew Sims was gimpy and it looked like Gibson hadn’t even practiced. Our practices must just be awful. The fact that pyron has been 3rd string all year is deserving enough for the entire staff to be fired for incompetence. Redshirt be damned... You put him in in the UVA game and we win almost assuredly. The whole season would be different right now... Clowns
In some ways he was, in some ways he wasn't. To hear Chip Long speak of him prior to fall camp, I thought he had a chance to start over Sims by season's end. Maybe he still will, just in a different way than I thought. I don't have the inside scoop on it, but I think in an attempt to roster manage, he wasn't getting first, second, or third team reps in practice. The coaches obviously thought they had something they didn't in Gibson and didn't think they needed a third QB prepped to go in last week, didn't trust the Clemson transfer in game situations, and paid for it with an unnecessary loss to UVA. I understand the desire to bring Pyron into the fold slowly. I'll have to watch the game tape, but from what drives I did manage to watch, I agree with their decision. The fact that pyron has been 3rd string all year is deserving enough for the entire staff to be fired for incompetence. Redshirt be damned... You put him in in the UVA game and we win almost assuredly. The whole season would be different right now... Clowns
I think it's more likely we play him only 4 games and he transfers before his eligibility is exhausted. Frankly it may be best to get the most out of each player today because who knows where they will be tomorrow. The level of incompetence in every facet of this program is just laughable. I don’t see him transferring unless we make a ridiculous hire. His family stated he committed to GT for more reasons than just football. He also sees that he has a clear path to playing time so no reason to leave unless a Bama type comes calling. I totally understand the roster management thoughts you bring up but you can’t let the what ifs push you into something, This season is over so someone in a power position (AD) needs to make decisions on what is best for the future. I’m not really worried about Pyron playing 5 games because Mr. Pyron won’t let that happen. He’ll do what’s best for his son’s future. Just like Sims is doing what he believes his best for his future.I think it's more likely we play him only 4 games and he transfers before his eligibility is exhausted. If he does it’s on the coaches. How much?
I believe you are correct. And I’m ok with that.I bet Jeff never plays another down for GT.
Way more on point. Really no comparison. Challenge and promote.Kid has more heart and a more accurate arm than Sims.
After rewatching, he made more reads down field than I first thought. Some throws looked predetermined and he stared those down.I know we shouldn't read too much into one game, but I think we have our new starter. I love Sims, but I'm also one that thinks he has checked out. Pyron's accuracy for a true freshman is amazing, and he really puts zip on the ball. He probably took a few sacks when he could have thrown it away, but I think that'll happen less with experience. A bit more of a concern is that he telegraphed his passes a few times, I think that's a harder habit to break.
