Saban retiring

Fair enough, but looking at 2024 where do you see 4 regular season losses?

UGA - MBS
App State
Citadel
UofL
NCSU
Stanford
UVA
@ FSU
@ Pitt
@ VT
@ Wake
South Carolina

Low end is 9-3.
I would guess Clemson will go 10-2 next year. It will validate Dabo’s way of doing things. Clemson will have a kind of bizarre rallying cry of winning the “Clemson Way”. This will result in a continuing erosion of their most recent successes and they will become an 8 or 9 win program.

2025 schedule is even easier than 2024. If Dabo wants to continue to use the Portal sparingly (which others who have depth are also doing) he can’t afford to lose top level talent from the Top 12 classes. The biggest thing will be whether or not Klubnik ever develops into the #1 QB prospect he was touted to be out of HS, combined with finding a game changer WR that’s been missing the last 2 years. If neither of those things happen, I 100% agree Clemson will start to drop back to a 8 win program.

That same mob will show up with torches if he fails. Tree poisoning, brick throwing, it-just-means-more crowd. Oooohwhee.

Some of you guys are wild with your predictions. Clemson was never going to be a program that can compete for national championships every year (There are only 5 or 6 programs that can claim that anyway!), but predicting a slide back to 8 wins every year is hilarious. They have an infrastructure that will continue to win 10+ a year, the portal will creep and become a part of their culture as much as anyone else. Their "growing pain" year was a 9 win season lol.

With competent consistent leadership, GT should be that 8+ win program.

Clemson barely won 8 games with an easy schedule, and needed the bowl win to hit 9

All while predicting Clemson & FSU’s inevitable decline to 8 win programs, the same people also want to say the ACC is on the same level as the “big 2“ conference‘s. Yet the depth of the league is in question going forward, and right now after those 2 programs there are no 10 win programs waiting in the wings outside of UofL and new comer SMU.

Can the ACC save itself despite all the noise? Yes. But that takes the group of Miami, GT, VT, UofL, UNC, NCSU all stepping up and staying consistent 8-10 win a year program’s. SMU is the wild card going forward. They obviously have the investment and $$$ to take the next step now as an ACC member.

Let’s be real here. Duke, Wake, BC, Syracuse, Stanford, Cal and UVA just don’t have the buy-in at all levels to elevate the program as the CFB world continues to change.

Sure. Barely eh? Are you forgetting how FSU “barely” beat Clemson only because Clemson missed a chip shot FG? Clemson blew the game and lost to Miami in 2OT. Same thing for what seemed like 25 fumbles against Duke.

So I’ll ask you a simple question. If both Clemson and FSU are on the “decline” what does that say about the ACC in general? I guess national perception of the ACC is about to truly become reality.

All of a sudden bowl games don’t count? I mean they sure seemed to for most teams with a borderline record to have a winning season across all conference’s.

Why was Clemson’s schedule easy?

they played all the top half teams in the ACC and ND. It was probably the hardest ACC schedule.

We haven’t won at least 8 since 2016. In the last 21 years we have won 8 or more 6 times. The standard of 8 wins isn’t a disastrous insult.

Maybe Dabo will direct Clemson to go Independent and become the ND of the south out of principle. There are no professional teams in South Carolina to compete against so it should work great.
