Sims = Bilbo

Clemson would have destroyed the triple option last night. There was no overcoming that DL with an option OL.

Think that Clemson DL would destroy nearly every OL, regardless of scheme. They are really good. Outside of the throw prior to the TD, I think that Sims did well last night. WR's/TE's and the OL that likes to jog on plays didn't help him much.

I think that Coach Long is already a clear upgrade. Shame it took Goof 3 years to pull the trigger on one (or be told to).

I’ll wait and pass judgement after the season, but so far he’s only had a few good games. Seems like every time he got in a rhythm last night, we did something stupid.

Because it wasn't that long ago, I remember Jordan Yates, with 1/2 of Sims' physical ability, keeping us in the game with Clemson last year til the very end. Then Sims returns to beat NC...and tank the rest of the season. He is not a QB. Sorry.
I also remember 100-0 with Yates in last year.

This has got to be one of the dumbest takes by far. You, sir, are an idiot. There are plenty of things we need to clean up and get better at but Sims is far down that list. The first int he was getting hit. It was a TD if he's able to stand in there and make the throw. The first almost pick he got hit as he threw. The one he threw into triple coverage I believe he was trying to sail it out of the back of the endzone but he was getting hit there again. I only saw him make maybe 2 bad throws and those were to open guys where the ball just sailed on him. He had at least 3 drops by WR/TEs and multiple times he threw lasers into tight coverage. I don't know what you were watching but you are a moron.

Sims first INT was underthrown, no reason to make up an excuse for it. The long ball just isn't and never has been Sims forte. He has a strong enough arm; but he has trouble leading a receiver. The one he threw into triple coverage he was under duress and tried to force it, there is no need to keep making excuses for him.

All that said, his play last night looked improved to me and he was far from our biggest problem. Maybe the college version of Johnny Manzell makes more out of what the O-line was giving him; but there aren't many QB's in the ACC this year that could have.

It is hard to tell if Clemson's DL is that good or our O-line is that bad, my guess is that it is more the latter.

You clearly didn't see the play before the TD where he threw into quadruple coverage.
Or the near pick 6.
Or...

Same song...different verse. Move him to WR or something.

Oh...and STATS ARE FOR LOSERS! The only one that matters is the scoreboard.
The throw into coverage was bad but the near pick 6, he got rocked because our tackles are turnstiles.

I think that Coach Key and his unit is undoubtedly the weakest on the team. It's year 4 and Coach Key has shown little from a recruiting or coaching standpoint. Seeing o-linemen just casually jog on screen passes is pretty enraging.

Still, I do think that is more of the former--CU's d-line is that good and has players on it that will be playing on Sunday's. Again, I have little to no confidence in the o-line, but that is arguably the best d-line that the team will see this season.

I was seeing that from the first quarter. Line Sims up at another position. Collins is toast. No clue. 404 was a good idea. Change the culture. Go away.

You sure about that?

Literally every media outlet agrees that Clemson has the best DL, if not the best front 7 in all of CFB. Our OL doesn't appear to be where they need to be yet, but yes Clemson's DL is that good and it's not that hard to tell.

We took our shot and it didn’t hit. No reason to get all worked up about it. It was essentially like a punt. Clemson didn’t score. It was of little to no impact on the final outcome. Our OL just didn’t hold up. The throw was there with more time.

Sims was, by far, the best player out there last night, with McCollum and our PK getting honorable mentions. He made 2 mistakes (OMG He wasn't perfect!!!) but looked far better last night than a year ago.

Bonus: He didn't admit to on-field interviewer at halftime that he was literally afraid of Clemson. He left that job to Clown Coach.

He looked much, much better than Ukelele, who flat-out sux as a QB. Clemson fans should be calling for Streeter's job. He sux too. Outside of their DL, I thought Clemson was mostly overrated crap and I look forward to a couple of losses for those rednecks that will mercifully keep them out of the CFP. They lose to the mutts or 'Bama by 5 TDs.
Their D will keep them in games even against the mutts and Bama, but their O sucks

Sims played well last night. He outplayed DJ for the majority of the game. We lost the game for a multitude of other reasons (Special Teams, OL, Inability to run consistently, Secondary, Time Management, etc.).

Would have preferred to start with some screen passes to get the DL to hesitate. But iiwii.

The only difference between Bilbo and Sims is that Chan Gailey knew Bilbo wasn't a QB and started a true freshman over him. We'll have no such luck with Waffle House Boy.
I watched Bilbo play against Fresno and I swear it was one of the worst performances I've ever seen in a college game. I'm not a huge fan of Sims as he probably does not have the in-game mental part needed to excel, but damn man. Bilbo was in a class by himself. I hear he's a great guy and of course he's a GT man, but that dude struggled mightily as a QB to the point I was about to go down to the sidelines and offer to suit up at halftime after watching him play. I probably could only throw the ball 50 yds at the time but I'm pretty damn sure I wouldn't have aimed at the opposing defense and hit them in the chest with the ball.
