Some Comments

One more thing, if a change is made. I would think a minority coach would get a very serious look. Hewitt will push for it as well.

cool, I have suspected this and think it would be a wise decison. Turner Gill and Norm Chow are the only two choices there IMO.

Please don't hire Mississippi State's head coach...although Croom would probably be an upgrade.

Randy Edsall is my pick if PJ isn't wanted here.
I'd take him..especially over Gai. Wins over Auburn and Kentucky with the talent he has to work with says enough for me.

Not saying he would be my first choice though...

There is no excuse as to why Taylor should of been in the game. After 3 picks he should of been sitting on the bench. I dont care who you are, after three picks your not going to come out with any confidence.

.

What if you are Matt Ryan or Matt Flynn? Neither of them came out after three interceptions this weekend.

I'm not saying Tater is as good as either of those QBs, just saying that very good QBs (I hope we agree on Flynn and Ryan being good QBs) have very bad days too.

BTW, I have no problem with sitting ANY player at any position who is having a very bad day, at least temporarily. If Choice had three fumbles in a game then I would want him on the bench.

First of all, TB had 4 INt's...not three.

Second, Matt Ryan and Matt Flynn have put up numbers that dwarf....no...beyond dwarf....TB's.

Ryan has completed 59% of his passes for 2,848 yds., 21 TD's, and 11 INT's.

Flynn has completed 56% of his passes for 1,619 yds., 11 TD's, and 8 INT's.

TB has completed 50% of his passes for 1,494 yds., 2 TD's, and 7 INT's.

Plus...LSU and BC are both 8-1....we are 5-4. We need to shake things up....it cannot hurt at all. who knows...maybe it helps TB to watch a bit then make a comeback?

I would hope Flynn comes out after 3 picks. Perrilloux is sitting on the bench. Those two guys have atleast put up numbers, Taylor has not this season. If he struggles he shouldn't stay in there.

I think we should lobby the NCAA for a new rule change in football.

If a qb throws 3 int's, he "fouls out" like in basketball.

This is obviously a joke but if you really think about it...this would be pretty cool to watch.

Actually, he was not available for this game. Perrilloux was suspended for the Alabama game because of his involvement in the nightclub fight. In any case, Flynn ultimately got the job done. The entire team was screwing up all night with costly penalties and turnovers yet they pulled it out at the end.

Exactly, don't you believe if Ryan P was available he would of gotten a shot? That is the difference here. We don't even give anyone else a chance.

are you saying MW is STILL calling recruits?

My god, if that is true...that just proves my prior comment this man has issues, won't let stuff go, and always has to prove he is right.

GT should cut him off if he is still doing this.

What a jerk.

never have never will. Its all the head mans issue. He didn't bench reggie, he won't bench taylor; or rhodes, or whomever is stinking up the joint...DJay jones comes to mind

If we go after a new coach I hope we get someone who is less than 45-50 years old. The younger would be better. IF Demjackets is right and we will strongly consider a minority, then I would think the list would certainly include:

Charlie Strong - always seems to be interviewed but not hired, hmmm?

Turner Gill - all I know is what his bio says

Joker Phillips- Am I joking? I don't even know anymore

But I don't think the list will stop with minority candidates.

I would also look for someone who coaches a wide open offense. I suspect DRad desparately wants someone who's coaching style is more marketable than the typical running game. In other words, I suspect DRad would rather see a 37-30 win than a 10-7 win. Sports marketing likes scoring (ie. juiced baseballs & players, all offense NBA, etc..). The average fan wants to see lots of scoring, regardless of the sport.

This whole discussion might be moot if Chan wins out, ending the season with a decisive victory over a top 10 UGA team.

Good God, man! If that were to happen we would be stuck with Gailey for another 10 years.

Where's my bottle? :wow::eek::eek:

i seriously hope that if there is a coaching search they atleast interview hatcher. as others have said he has been a possition coach for a bcs school or two and he has done nothing but win everywhere he has been as head coach. i feel this guy is going to be a major player in bigtime college football sometime soon. he is doing pretty well at gsu this year running a scheme somewhat diff. than what he prefers, due to his tallent being geared more towards an option offense. a big plus for me is that in everything i have read about him seems to indicate he makes sure to include fan perception and approval into his coaching. i also hear he knows how to score alot of points and does pretty well coaching qb's.

No, no, no! Georgia Tech is NOT BAD. We are merely mediocre---which is okay and no reason to fire a coach. I know because I read it here on StingTalk.

I agree. Get the best person for the job regardless of race.

I agree and I don't think anyone is saying that we won't. I think what people are saying is that we will make an effort to at least look at a minority candidate.
