On the flip side there would be a contingent of Tech fans who would not enjoy the season if we did win a title and used the TO to do it. {See Orange Bowl 2014 for an example.} Imagine the horror of winning a major bowl with the OL flopping like fish.
A contingent = "majority of regular ST posters."
The ring from that game is my avatar for a reason, as it is the second greatest sports moment for me as a Tech alumnus, after the 1990 Natty. I feel so fortunate to have seen both teams live. I bought more than a dozen tickets for the (Dec) 2014 OB and had all my extended family in Palm Beach come down to watch the game and root for the fellas. I was at the 2010 OB, too, with just my immediate family, and I was pretty disappointed by the
lousy representation of Tech fans at that game. I thought a lot of supposed fans were just unhappy with the 3O and decided to boycott. Either that, or Tech has a bunch of cheap bastard fans. Made me sick so I tried to do a little something about it (almost) five years later. Didn't make a dent, but at least I had all my family there to enjoy the fun.
I root for Tech. 3O, run-and-gun, T formation, pro-set, single wing, wishbone, RPO, I DNGAF. Just win. Even if they only win 3, I will never root for Tech to lose just because I don't like the offense, the coach, the AD, the artifical turf, the music, the circus show money down, the juice, the 404, the ATL, the blue unis, want the coach fired, or anything else. YMMV.
