Tashard Choice Gone

Yes. The coach of our ONLY good position group and best recruiter is leaving so it’s sunshine and lollipops from here on out. Moron
I mean, it’s not good, but let’s not overplay this. Deuce is only a position coach and was probably here for another year anyways. There is a housecleaning coming less than a calendar year away.

Yeah, basically the only reason we were competitive this year was our RB group being the best in the conference. That’s all but evaporated now. And I can’t imagine Simpkins staying on board for ‘23 anymore.

Nah. That is supposedly an honorable act.

We are in the stage of the sinking where the first class passengers are in lifeboats (transfer portal, graduation, nfl hopes) and the crew that can get off the boat is now starting to board the lifeboats.

The rest of the team and all of us fans are locked in steerage and will go down with the ship.
Never let go Jack

Losing Choice hurts - but who would blame him for wanting to be a part of what Riley wants to do at USC? I hate to see us losing players and coaches like this. We are learning a tough lesson, always value substance over style.

I’m having a hard time caring about this. I like Choice and all, but Choice is not and was not going to be the savior of our program as a position coach. I also don’t blame him or anyone else for distancing themselves from Gef.

Best of luck Deuce. It’ll be interesting to see how many of these guys who leave continue on with the area code type hype circus stuff once they get away from Gef.
You know he was the reason we got Gibbs, right? He was a great recruiter.

Guess we know now why practically the entire RB room is leaving
Yet, CGC tells reporters everything is unicorns and rainbows in the locker room, and if you don't believe him, go ask them. Oops! When DBs are pointing at each other and getting chippy with each other in games, everything in the locker room ain't just great.

We have always had productive RB's, even before TC. Damn, you guys need some perspective. Back away from the ledge.

If this staff sinks, Collins, Choice, Key, TStan....ALL of them would have been gone. Collins has one more season, so deal with it. Next year may be rough or maybe our new OC will have us scoring points. Smith is a hell of a good RB. We hopefully hold our recruits.

Choice recruited Gibbs. It was a great pickup. I assume Choice is a good RB coach. Hell, I don't know. He is a good motivator , so we will miss that.

Now go find us a good RB coach. Hopefully one with some college recruiting experience and some NFL connections.

Choice is leaving because USC is probably paying more money than we are willing to pay. It is a stepping stone for him to an eventual head coaching job. Most assistant coaches, if you look at their resumes, rarely have a stay of 3+ years in any location.

We need wins next season or we move on. Choice was not going to be the "move on" HC if Collins and staff get canned after next season.

Guess Choice didn’t suck too bad since he’s going to USC despite 3 3 win seasons. You DO realize Choice it the best recruiter on the staff and one of the best in the south don’t you? This is our biggest loss to date and it’s not even close

I am aware. I’m also aware that Gibbs is gone along with the rest of the supporting cast. I’m also aware that there are better than even odds that Gef (and the rest of the coaching staff) are gone by this time next year. That would likely include Choice.

It doesn't take watching much game film too realize the team quit last year.

Gibbs was a late bloomer we were on early. He was a great player for us, but played on a mediocre Dalton team which played in a mediocre region.

Yes, it hurts losing him, but we have seemingly dealt with this kind of adversity at GT yearly. Mills, Marshall, AJ Gray, Ratliffe, Gowdy....

And Roof is going to be DC at Oklahoma

Where I think we went wrong was trying to implement the Collins plan without the financial investment up front. We essentially tried to be a poor man's Clemson, but there is no such thing. So Collins tried to will this thing into existence through sheer force of hype. We did things all out of order. I actually think we are making some of the right moves now, but it may be a day late and a dollar short.
