We’re marginally better than we were in 2019, and VPI is significantly worse.

Was the failed 4th down after Gibbs’ long run? I think he was dinged after that awkward cut/slip that ended the run.

What I don’t really need to see much more of is sending Gibbs up the gut. Nothing’s there and he’s not gonna push the pile.

(BTW, what was up with Sims bounce passing short dump offs 2-3 times yesterday?)

Gibbs wasn't in for the final series, which was concerning.

It is also concerning our new crap turf claimed him.
 
As for the bounce passes, on those short screens, we have to cut the DE or DL. Gotta get their hands down. Sims is having to loft the ball too high.

Somebody went into the medical tent after that run, but I couldn’t tell who it was. Gibbs returned the next kickoff after that run, though, so hopefully he’s OK.

I’m increasingly not a fan of the turf, though. It’s unattractive and seems to have some traction issues.

Looks like it just gets slippery, especially damp.

I made the statement the last year of our natural grass that our grounds crew had it in the worst shape I had ever seen. Then excuses began about how the season makes it impossible to upkeep. It was BS. I'm certain the Tech grad idiots from Shaw Industries wanted to get their field put in at GT because, hell, they are idiots.

I had a Miami fan ask me once, in the mid 2000's, may have been 2004, if our field was artificial turf because it looked that good.

If Tennessee can grow grass in the cavern of Neyland, we should be able to grow grass in BDS. We were str8up lied to about the reasons for replacing natural grass with Shaw turf. I'm certain Shaw engineers probably came up with dazzling cost savings numbers and we eagerly set the wheels in motion to replacement.
