Have seen both "knee sprain" and "torn ACL". Then there are different severities of ACL tear, right. Could be partial or complete. I don't know if it is possible to recover from any ACL tear without surgery.
CPJ will burn redshirts before he turns the throttle over to Swilling.
No offense to the kid but I hope so

Hypothetically speaking, if the injury ends up being bad and Timmy has to miss the rest of the season, wouldn't he be able to request a Medical RS?

Yes...because he was injured before the 4th game. He is doing really well on the business contacts front though and has a lot of solid job opportunities when he graduates either December or May. I am not sure he would want a 6th year if he did end up having surgery for a torn ligament. We just need to wait a few days and see what the extent is.Hypothetically speaking, if the injury ends up being bad and Timmy has to miss the rest of the season, wouldn't he be able to request a Medical RS?
He already redshirted. He wouldn't get a 6th year

you can get a 6th year clock extension if you prove that you lost 2 seasons out of your control... the medical hardship waiver is one of them but he'd need to show another. I don't know if a transfer suffices... probably not.
A second year? I don't get what you mean. Missing two seasons from this injury?
A medical redshirt is in addition to the standard redshirt.
