Philo’s throws came up short this year too. Probably adjusting to a faster throwing motion.
Philo underthrew Eric at least 2 different times against NCSt

Eric was an easy guy to underthrow. He was a step or two faster than our other receivers, and you have to lead him further. HK had an injured shoulder for half the season, and Philo was a true freshman that just needs more time working with the individual receivers and getting better at matching his throws to each of their skill sets

Needed more reps with him. King had a bum shoulder most of the year (if not all). Singleton got behind the D a lot this year and we underthrew walk in TDs to him or didnt see him.

Yes, my point is that we weren’t able to use his speed. So a difference in 10.3 and 10.8 isn’t a differentiator.

I agree with you but I am worried that Singleton helps open up Rutherford.
And I was worried losing McCollum, and then Rutherford stepped up.

We will be a better FB team in 2025 than 2024.

It does hurt to see Kennard and Ivey be so successful. That would have been a hell of a DL for us.

That said, go get 'em, coaches.

Sources indicate that Singleton went into Key's office and asked for more in NIL.
Key said no. Singleton said he was hitting the portal.

So … how much loyalty should a player like Singleton have towards Tech? From what I understand we were the only Power Conference team to offer Eric, the others were Ga St, Troy, and another lower division team or two. I understand we are paying Eric a nice chunk of change so to an old fan like me it just doesn’t sit well. Just take a look at Nate McCollum … how much NFL money has he lost by transferring?

If basically true you know it's gotta to be painful for Key to have to deal with these discussions and hard realities of game right now. Especially how Key is with his guys and the sorta of stern but loving figure he try's to show them.

From reports Singleton did the same thing after last season and we met his demands and he stayed.

I wonder if this year if...

1. We couldn't meet them from a financial standpoint
2. We drew a line in the sand and decided not to be held hostage year after year
3. We decided we could do just as well without him and use his NIL for another receiver from the portal

I've wondered about the mechanics of this. Is Key sitting there with a budget and trying to figure out how to allocate it to maximize team performance?

That's a complicated optimization problem that you probably need like a finance whiz for. Maybe we should get ahead of this and hire some smart money people.
