Haynes King made WR's look good because DB's had to respect his running ability.

You guys need to settle TF down with this end of the world stuff. The WR's we have look damn good, Canion and Stockton and the additions have solid stats. The TE room also looks damn good.

And Canion is 6'4" and 215 lbs
If Canion was that good, he would have been on the field more this year

Meh, receivers are replaceable. Singleton was mostly hype anyway. Rutherford at least could make the catch in key moments, but he is replaceable. Thank you for your service to the Tech cause Malik, but I think you are making a pour decision. Like a wise man once said, it is what it is
It’s never as good or as bad as it seems

1. Singleton didn't play defense and he was the point being discussed.
2. 34th, not 14th, on D. 54th on O.

Oops. I misunderstood the post you were replying to.

But I’m sticking to my guns on our 3rd down defense

It’s also plausible that Malik is looking at what the new guys are getting — for instance, a certain new HS kid that’s never played a down in CFB.

For the sake of an example let’s say Malik is getting $100k. And he’s looking at what he’s brought to the team in real action. He asks the staff for more — because that’s what every player — and coach — does: They do their job under that agreement, then they ask for more because they feel “undervalued” now.. for doing their job. Did Coach Key not just do this and what was his increase in both percentage and raw value?

As many of us experienced once you’ve set your value with a company/organization it’s very hard to just be paid more. So- you move to a different company. And that’s what Malik is doing.

CFB is the same thing we work through, except for exponentially more dollars, with much higher inflated egos in play, and in a system that has no particular accountability.
I think there is some truth to this.

Not sure if I'm over sharing. Mods can delete if so. Malik asked Brent for $1m. We used that to convince philo to be our program qb going forward and retain Jordan van de berg (all conference DT).

Plus - Brent really likes the young receivers in Canion, Bailey Stockton, etc.

The fiu guys are good. Rivers was named 3rd team all American and finished in the top 10 in every single major receiving statistic.

I don't see Malik being delusional enough to ask for $1 million. He will get that nowhere.

Malik needs to go retake Econ 1101 and pay attention to supply and demand if he thinks Philo and Van den Berg getting paid means he gets the same things. Receivers grow on trees as evidenced by how we have done in the portal. QBs and all conference DTs do not.

FWIW, I don't believe he asked for that much.

Also - this is why we need players signed to contracts if they are going to negotiate payouts. Imagine the NFL without contracts where every prima donna was free to throw a fit at any time over who is getting paid what.
