UGA 15 - Tech 1

But you don’t couple that with bottom of conference (and P5) recruiting budget.
+1. People seem to keep forgetting that our budget was either last or 2nd to last (can't remember which) in the ACC. No coach is going to succeed with that lack of support.

Psss….CPJ had the same access to the helicopter/PJ as did Gailey

I agree; but the P5 recruiting environment has made colossal changes since back when you were a high school recruit, and like you point out GT did not keep up, or even attempt to. GT was still trying to recruit in 2016-2017 like nothing had changed since 2006-2007.

Not immediately. Still, I would expect an average to above average coach/position coach to improve a position group over a 3 year window.

I'd be curious as to your take on practice. From others (at least in season's prior), practice was poorly run and not a lot being taught, which would dovetail w/the lack of progress on the field too.

Me and a teammate described it as the team looks like it is all jacked up on 5hr energy and we tend to crash when the caffeine wears off.

The controlled chaos mentioned early on, imo, has definitely led to the erratic & short attention span type of play we’ve witnessed

No way in hell you would excited if we were 14-20 right now
If the slope is positive and we went from 2 to 4 to 8 wins or 3 to 5 to 6 wins. Hell yeah I’d be positive.

I’d even be positive at 4-4-6 wins. Don’t give me that crap.

If we would have won eight games last year, the fanbase would absolutely be excited. That would have gotten rid of the NIU loss and we would have been 6-2 in the acc, probably second in the coastal. We would have made a bowl.

Isn’t our recruiting budget still close to bottom of the conference?

The juice wears off?

No, it took a big jump in 2019.

Programs with recent coaching turnover like Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Arkansas and Texas Tech all increased spending year over year by more than 48%.

Pretty crazy how much more uga is spending then everyone else. Guess that explains 15 draft picks.

I’m sure some folks on here would be fine if ibb never logged in again but I’m not one of them.

So I’d appreciate it if y’all could show the guy at least a little bit of respect. He did don the uniform and bleed a while. I couldn’t give a öööö less about his or any of your knuclehead’s political opnions so don’t waste your time bringing it up. This is football. He played it and most of you didn’t.

IBB is alright. He didn’t like the direction the program went, which is fine. Nobody likes where we are right now. Once the program starts moving in the right direction we can all start talking about wins.

The biggest surprise there is that UGA spends more than Bama & GT combined. Not surprised that UGA spends more than 4x as much as GT; but I was pleasantly surprised we now spend as much a mid-tier P5 program.

ibb occasionally has good points and insight; but I don't plan to bend over for any former player. Last year former players were a bigger problem for the program than they were part of the solution.

No disagreement there

Hard pass, I'm not putting him on a pedestal. He shows no one else respect and has been called out on other boards for it too. Putting on the uniform isn't freedom to make bad arguments and expect them to go unchallenged.

My biggest gripe is that the former players turned coaches didn’t flatten Collins tires on Friday nights or lock him in a closet on Saturday mornings. Seriously, the simple fact that Choice and Key didn’t resign at some point the last 2 years I just can’t understand. They both would have and still will have plenty of job opportunities so for them to watch this program burn when they had an active role is beyond. So the next time any former player acts like they care more than alums I’ll simply point to the Collins years when former players didn’t have the cajones to call someone out on behalf of everyone. And if they did “in private” and were obviously blown off by Collins that’s even worse they didn’t resign. I’m especially not thrilled with Key. Having worked under Saban he knew the first hour of the first practice that Collins had no clue and he has watched it burn for 3 years.
