Amazing that folks believe anybody is ok with continuing on with Collins if it doesn't improve. Gailey got over 7 wins only once in an ACC that was much less competitive than it is now. He walked into a team that was already successful and had talent across the board. When he did finally get to the 9 win season, he laid an egg in the ACC championship scoring only 2 FG's to lose to Wake by 3 when we had Calvin Johnson on the team. He wasted more talent here than I've ever seen. Everybody knew coming into this that it was going to take year 3 at minimum to see improvement after the transition. It didn't yet and what it boils down to is TS basically gave him another year to make changes and show improvement because of COVID, and because his buyout is significantly lower after the 4th year. If he makes enough improvement this year, he may buy himself another year but that means he will need even more improvement in the next. Nobody is happy with 3 wins and nobody will be happy if he wins 6+ and is retained but fails to further improve on that next year.Amazing that Gailey got fired for producing twice the wins per season as Collins.
