Western Carolina

Amazing that Gailey got fired for producing twice the wins per season as Collins.
Amazing that folks believe anybody is ok with continuing on with Collins if it doesn't improve. Gailey got over 7 wins only once in an ACC that was much less competitive than it is now. He walked into a team that was already successful and had talent across the board. When he did finally get to the 9 win season, he laid an egg in the ACC championship scoring only 2 FG's to lose to Wake by 3 when we had Calvin Johnson on the team. He wasted more talent here than I've ever seen. Everybody knew coming into this that it was going to take year 3 at minimum to see improvement after the transition. It didn't yet and what it boils down to is TS basically gave him another year to make changes and show improvement because of COVID, and because his buyout is significantly lower after the 4th year. If he makes enough improvement this year, he may buy himself another year but that means he will need even more improvement in the next. Nobody is happy with 3 wins and nobody will be happy if he wins 6+ and is retained but fails to further improve on that next year.

Gailey got fired for going 0-6 versus uga.

That and the ACC Championship Game disaster. I think if he had won that he probably would have bought himself some more time.

But losing a conference championship by scoring only 6 points with an offense that has Calvin Johnson and Tashard Choice? Against Wake Forest? That's worse than not even making it to the game in some ways.

Came across this researching what a "catamount" is.

Interestingly, the catamount has become a bit of an urban legend over the years. Even though Fish and Wildlife Services says there haven't been any sightings in 80 years, people in the northeastern U.S. say they've seen the eastern cougar recently. That's one of the reasons it's been nicknamed "ghost cat" — another reason is that some scientists doubt the eastern cougar ever existed in the first place, per a Scientific American article published after the agency's 2011 announcement.

That and regressing back to 7-5 the next season was it.

Koon has had several head scratching comments over the last few months. I don't know if he's genuinely that uninformed or just hunting clicks and likes. For someone whose job is to cover GT, he seems out of the loop.
He's out of the loop. Lazy coverage just like the rest of them - Rod McKenzie, Kelly Quinlan, Jonathan from Gojackets.com, etc.

The most interesting thing about that article is the quote that the most famous use of the catamount is as a mascot of the University of Vermont. Our last 2 head coaches went to Western Carolina maybe we should have been looking for a coach from the University of Vermont.

This game is 50/50.

This is how I think it will play out. We go out to a fast start and go up 14-0. Then we go cold and WCU goes up 28-14. We go into desperation mode in the last two minutes and score a TD and get an onside kick to close the gap to 28-21.

We have 1st and goal at the 9 yard line with 15 seconds left and no time-outs. Sims throws an INT in the endzone to end the game.

WCU fans rush the field. Collins does not get fired.
They rush the field? If they do, JJacket is going into butt kicking mode.

Someone gave TDope the millions Goof is owed?

Collins isn't going anywhere until December when the buyout drops significantly, regardless of the on field results.
It was reported he had it last year. Just had his guy, so here we are.

A short week and downy loss to clem and without Thomas for a half--vs a team that actually scored 52 and 600 yds of Off. ( btw-their opponent last week, Charleston-Southern actually only lost to uga last yr 7-56.Scored a TD) As good as we did..
This could be a problem.

Mods, this deserves a permaban. No way any fan should EVER root for their team to lose. You may be joking in this post, but it shows your true colors.
Apparently permabans only last a couple of hours.
