Will we be able to recruit with Chadwell O?

It’d be status quo recruiting under Chadwell most likely.

The only guy out there we could hire and reach our recruiting ceiling would be Deion Sanders.
Not disagreeing. I just don't think we have what Deion would be looking for. I could be wrong. But, I just don't seem him leaving his current job, for us.

They don't think it be like it is but it do.

Excellent dark response.

Coastal's current run-pass balance is 40:60, compared to 43:57 for us. We currently run the ball more than they do. Coastal's run-pass has steadily changed from 52 to 40 since JC started there. GT's trend is about the same. If recruits have a problem with JC's offense, it won't be because of the type of offense they run.

Avg Run-Pass Balance over last 4 years
Georgia Tech48-52
Coastal Carolina46-54

With Key we’ll retain more players that have been stepping up lately and more of the recruits they’ve been recruiting all year. If Chadwell gets announced we’re going to see a mass exodus so I hope he knows how to work that transfer portal well. Otherwise we’re back to oh let’s give him 3 seasons to turn things around.

There will be zero problems recruiting because of his offense. It will not hinder or enhance the GT baseline. QB is in shot gun, has TEs, Oline technique is the same as everyone.

It might limit us from getting a true drop back type QB but we do better (like 80% of teams) with a dual threat QB.

Recruiting will come down to Chadwell’s skill in that department and his success on the field. I assume he is an engaging guy that players wish to play for. If he wins with good offensive numbers then the recruits will line up. (Relatively speaking)

Interesting thread seeing as how we, GT, just proved that the type of offense we run doesn't matter towards recruiting. That was half of CGC sales pitch was that we were 'ripping the band-aid off' and running an offense that all the top recruits want to be a part of. Well, we all saw how that turned out. 'No more small ball' and running an NFL type offense, and losing bigly with it, did not fill our roster with 5 star recruits despite all the bells and whistles and hype around it. If the Chadwell wins, the recruits will come; if he loses, they won't come. Top players want to win, and will go somewhere else if we don't.

Golden post right here.

A DT QB is far more likely to play for Chadwell's offense than PJ. I consider that to be a huge advantage. I don't consider the QBs PJ recruited to be true DT QBs. PJ's QB's couldn't pass to save their lives except for a few.

I wouldn’t be against us getting Coastal starters, at least offensively. McCall would be good if Pyron leaves, the receivers have a ton of speed, and the backs are extremely explosive. Their line is pretty good too. Defensively, we could really try and keep our starters.

Johnson did recruit below the baseline because of his offense and the GT brand (to recruits) was harmed by his offense. Collins didn’t have one great class just by luck.

The other guys will always find reasons to negative recruit against us. Calculus, no girls, you name it. Well, we got girls now, and we can show a really good highlight reel of JChad’s offense. Negative recruit THAT, other guys.

excellent take. I’m amazed at how many of our fansthink recruiting will be the most important factor for GT football. It’s important, yes, very, but we will never overcome our handicaps with that being a more significant focus than development & scheme.

From what I've seen so far, if a narrative of Chadwell being more of the same option issues develops, it would of mostly been a narrative established by GT fans.

That topic has been beaten to pieces, but at the end of the day a high recruiting class means nothing when your coach is brain dead. I'd stack a last place recruiting class coached by PJ over a #1 class coached by GC any day.

Sure, never said different. If Chadwell is 90% the coach of Johnson but twice the recruiter then that would be great.

It's not cut blocking; but there is a whole lot of tackle arch blocking and a whole lot of leaving a defender unblocked between the tackle and guard area for the QB to read or the FB to seal.

In a lot of the tape I've watched, that unblocked man is just sitting at the line and reading/catching. I feel like better athletes aren't just going to sit there and will blow things up with penetration like we saw on an increasing basis in the later years of CPJ.

Winning cures all I guess.

Collins could talk like a winner, when it was obvious it was all talk the top players went elsewhere; which is part of why Johnson was able to leave a better roster than Collins left.
