Will we be able to recruit with Chadwell O?

I wouldn’t be against us getting Coastal starters, at least offensively. McCall would be good if Pyron leaves, the receivers have a ton of speed, and the backs are extremely explosive. Their line is pretty good too. Defensively, we could really try and keep our starters.

McCall will declare for the NFL.

Interesting thread seeing as how we, GT, just proved that the type of offense we run doesn't matter towards recruiting. That was half of CGC sales pitch was that we were 'ripping the band-aid off' and running an offense that all the top recruits want to be a part of. Well, we all saw how that turned out. 'No more small ball' and running an NFL type offense, and losing bigly with it, did not fill our roster with 5 star recruits despite all the bells and whistles and hype around it. If the Chadwell wins, the recruits will come; if he loses, they won't come. Top players want to win, and will go somewhere else if we don't.
Well recruiting actually improved dramatically for the Clown's first class. It was the crappy results that hindered his later classes.

I have no clue why people keep saying things like this. He absolutely loves GT. For him this is one of those similar situations where in the past people would say to him things like “you’re a 9th grader, coach benefield will never start a 9th grader at QB”. He proved them wrong, went 15-0 as a 9th grader and won a state championship. Or when he left Fyffe and jumped up to 6A football people were constantly telling him he wouldn’t win there or would say “this isn’t 3A ball anymore”. Actually a kid on GT he played against in the 6A state championship said that very thing during the game. Pinson won….Or they’d say “you’ll never make the elite 11”…he did. Then when he commited to GT all he heard was “get used to losing” or “you’ll be lucky to play before your junior year”. So now more than ever he wants to help return GT football back to relevancy, compete and win an ACC championships, and just shut a lot of people up.

He’s on a mission here.

Oh no doubt, I think he’s got a ton of stuff to prove, and he wants to prove it. I just don’t know how committed he would be to Key and/or the new head coach.

I disagree. I think recruits are attracted to teams that know who they are, can put points on the board or defend and produce Ws. Would we miss out on pass happy QBs and WRs that care only about stats? Yes. Even CPJs run happy offense produce talent at the WR level. We could focus on monster RBs, nasty O and D linemen and good defenders in the backfield and be just fine. Now, with that 99%, I was exaggerating. However; I do remain in my stance. Winning produces the ability to recruit better. Recruits could care less about losing programs, as a rule. It's hard to show development to any NFL team, on a losing team.
D. Thomas was already here when CPJ arrived, but his O absolutely put DT in a place he could take advantage of his size and speed. Beyond him, CPJ had Cone, Hill, Waller, Smelter, and Camp all either drafted or playing in the League.

Impressive response. Well done Dad.

I think at least 95% of the tech fans (like me) are so impressed by your son's play that they are afraid (particularly with recent portal results) that he will be lured away. This is not because of anything he has said or done. I've followed Ga Tech since entering there in 1966, and I've only seen one other freshman quarterback as skilled (and showing the maturity) as Zach in his freshman year. I do think that the pieces are there to make a team that will be a lot more competitive next year. I know the injury wasn't fun, but I'm so glad that it wasn't a knee injury or shoulder tear. Can't wait to see him next year!

Wait... am I really that slow? Is this Zach's dad?

ZP reminds me of Mike Kelley as a FR back in '78. Alas, that was a better team than this one, should have beat the mutts at Sanford & Son Stadium that year. Kelley, Eddie Lee Ivery, Drew Hill, Kent Hill, Al Richardson, Reggie WIlkes (IIRC, may have been gone the year before), Mackle Harris... on and on. Lost to Purdue in the Peach because ELI couldn't play due that "injury" in Athens.

Hey Zach's dad, I prayed for both your sons' surgeries and was glad to hear they were successful. We serve a mighty God! Your son makes me proud to be a Yellow Jacket. He will do well, and confident, with the rest of the team, will restore GT football back to where it should be. Looking forward to seeing him lead the Jackets into the future.

That is carson your seeing type that so take that with a SMALL grain of salt

doubt it - he's projected top-10 QBs. Why transfer to a new school for a single year and risk that?
Congrats, if you’re a projected top 10 QB, that means you’re either a late 7th rounder at best or undrafted. What do you think Caleb Williams is doing rn at USC?

Williams is a SOPH, not a redshirt Jr.
The 2021 NFL draft took 8 QBs in the first 3 rounds. I don't think you watch much NFL.

No way McCall foolishly elects to risk a possible 8-figure payday to transfer to GT or stay at an FCS school for another year. He's done everything he can possibly do at Coastal
