Would everyone take a minute

First game I went to was 1981 but I'll be damned if I remember who it was. BUT the first game I actually remember was the dwag game in 1981.

First g d play of the game was a pass to LS that went 80 yards for a TD.

I was at that game that year and remember play vividly. Can’t remember much more of the game.

1962 LSU at Grant Field . Ga. Tech lost a close one 10-7. LSU ran the second half kickoff back for a touchdown.Jerry Stovall got loose and Lothridge almost got him but he broke through. I’ve been a TECH fan ever since.
I was too young to have gone, but I remember Joe Auer dropped a TD pass that would have won it. 1962 team was very good

98 BC, Freshman year. It's funny, I remember school started so late back then (last year on quarter system), I had to make the 3 hour drive from home up to the game because I hadn't even moved into my dorm yet.

Possibly attended COFH as a child with my dad but don't recall it specifically. I just remember going to a few gagger games but not who they were playing.

2005 at Auburn, but I was in Orange as I was interested in going there (Sr year of high school).

First game was freshman year at GT. 2006 #2 Notre Dame and college gameday. I loved college football growing up and knew I’d sell out to wherever I went to college. Didn’t know about the wreck, Calvin Johnson, or anything, but man that stadium was electric. Games like that suck you in!

2001 against The Citadel. Honorable mention for watching USA Today preseason #1 against Syracuse the week before in Alexander Memorial.

1978 versus Notre Dame. This was the infamous game where Notre Dame was winning big and Tech students from the east stands started throwing fish and other debris from the east stands. My family was sitting in the upper West stands so we really couldn’t tell what was happening except that there was a delay late in the game and were losing so we left before it was resolved.
i was a student. To get seats that day you had to get there at least an hour before the game because of limited student seating for a big game. Tech was having a good year but was getting beat pretty bad. We had been drinking for 5 hours and were drunk and pissed - well yes there was some fish that came out of the East upper from the student body. Bottles too.

1979 William and Mary, was one of 6 games we won during my tenure. Key has won 3 times the number of games that Curry won in his first 2 years combined. Then the ööööer got a bowl team and ran off to Bama.

The 2 guys who had 1981 Memphis State as their first deserve a Croix de Tech if there was one.

Definitely a disappointing year. We were dark horse national contenders and wound up 8-5. Clemson’s Woody Dantzler is still burned into my brain.

After beating them for 4 straight years, with our expectations, that was tough to take. 9/11 jacked us up.

Someone will have to help with the year (2007?), but it was the infamous throwback uni night where Calvin Johnson went off on UVA. I was a UVA fan at the time. Wound up going to GT.

1979 William and Mary. Jackets trailed at halftime and the boobirds were loud, yelling at Pepper who was dressed like a bum instead of the three piece suit he wore the previous season.

GO JACKETS!!

1981 But I don't remember who we played, just that it is my first ever college game and the atmosphere was awesome electric, and I was hooked!
First and only time I ever sat in the old lower SW wooden bench seats. I remember having to be extremely careful to not get splinters in my butt.
First game I really specifically remember was a Clemson game @ BDS in 1983 or 1984. I was on my Co-Op work quarter at the time, and one of our plant supervisors (Tech Grad) asked me and another Tech Co-Op if we wanted to go to the game. It was a 4hr drive, one-way, but we left early Saturday morning and got back late Saturday night.
We won a very exciting game, which made the trip "home" a lot easier.

Again, Good Times and Great Memories!

Go Jackets! Beat the dwags!

I've been going to games since I was in utero and don't have a distinct first memory. One of the only times my parents left me overnight was when they went to the 1990 Citrus Bowl. My 11y/o is so excited we are doing to a bowl game and I just think back on all those years I took a winning season for granted.
