How many did we land before or after cpj?
We landed the best WR in college ball. I realize he may not have been a 5*, don't remember, but I guarantee you if every D1 coach had a choice of a WR at that time they would have wanted Calvin Johnson.

It is also nice just to be in the conversation with them

4-star. Likely because his recruitment was very limited by his parents since they essentially selected GT early on for him.

Basically recruited by the school reputation alone, though.

Yeah, we were strong at QB and our Defense had no real obvious holes that could've been improved with better recruiting. Plus, I think we had 10 RBs active every Saturday. We probably should've had 5 more ready to go. öööö the DL and OL though. And Dook was beating everyone in 2018.

Well I mean at least we were using all our running backs unlike now. And you’re counting one bad loss as our whole TO experience?

The year they went 9-4 and we lost because Ted Roof couldn’t get a crucial stop, just like against UNC?

right, PJ's greatest season here, where we lost to both UNC and Dook? Where we couldn't score but 25 points?

We had to score a late TD to make 2014 as close as it was. There was no late crucial non-stop.

Or is this 2018, where we were down 3 TDs in the 4th and death-marching?

Who would of thought that when CGC intro Press Conf when he said "bring tech back in the NATIONAL Conversation" he meant as one of the worse programs in FBS ..... Everyone thought (especially the CPJ haters) that he woud bring ACC titles, Glory and a NATTY.... They thought CPJ was holding the program back and the reason we only went to two Orange Bowls, three ACC Championships with one Crowned was somehow not a good look and Geoff Collins would save us from all of this.....

Instead we have a Collins Circus on the FLATS..... Donors, the AD, and all CPJ Haters might need to actually start to repect what CPJ did for teh Georgia Tech program becuase in a few years it will be known National as the Good Ole days "when GT Football actually could competed and they won"
Can't figure out why you capitalized certain words, especially FLATS

When Duke had its greatest season to date and went on to play in the sun bowl and barely lose to 15th ranked Arizona state? Yeah, I could grant him that loss. UNC was all on Roof.

Actually, Puke finished 1st in the ACC in 2013 (when PJ choked away what should've been a home dwag blowout - remember?) and in '89 under Spurrier. 2014's runnerup finish to us in the Coastal wasn't their "greatest season to date".

Us losing to UGA had nothing to do with ACC rankings… and UGA had a better record than us that year. But you’re proving my point even more. They were a competitive team at that time. It’s like saying we lost to Indians last year is just as bad as losing to them this year.

That's bullcrap.

Saying that Calvin was coming here from birth because of GT's sterling academic rep is some serious revisionist BS
Have you actually not heard of how Calvin was recruited here? His mom wanted him to go somewhere with good academics and it came between us and UGAg, but he went to a party on his trip there and his mom said no.

Yeah, I certainly consider it to be a success when we lost to a team who lost to the 15th ranked team in the Sun Bowl. That just shouts success!

Now we offer 5* recruits, spend our time blowing them & they go elsewhere. This benefits us how? We get to claim we’re “in” on players we have not shot with. Wow, I’m ööööing thrilled. We’ve got 2 recruiting classes to put out there for all the world to see. Every other team figures out how to play their top recruits in the first year or two before they bolt to the NFL. At GT, we need 4 seasons to “develop” them. Bullshit. We either cannot coach them or they got overrated. Take your pick. I think it’s the former more than the latter, but we’re going to be the ööööing Athens of 4* football recruiting pretty soon unless these imbeciles get out of here and get in a real coaching staff.
Because sometimes we are gonna hit on 4* and higher talent:
Gibbs
Sims
Ivey
4* DTs that are coming in 2022.

We start hitting on more 4* and higher OLs then the Games will play out a lot differently.

Doesn't matter the coaching strategy, you always try to get the best players and then Coach them them the best you possibly can.

Simply doing the best at every step makes more sense that being slack on the Recruiting upfront, then hoping for a miracle as Duke is dragging their nutsacks across CPJ'S face while we go 1-4 vs them

You're not good at this.

You erroneously said 2014 was Duke's "greatest season to date". It wasn't. Maybe 3rd but nowhere near 1st. 2013, they were first in the ACC and had 10 wins to 2014's 2nd place (to us, fercrissakes), 9-win season.

Us losing to uga (stopping ALL-CAPPING those öööööööööööös) was a PJ home choke job. It has nothing to do with Puke. Up 20 and losing at home to the mutts is inexcusable, as was the '09 loss.

More success than we have now. I guarantee Collins with that roster would have had his prototypical 3 win season, would you not agree?
