Was money really spent? Fact is that our recruiting staff was dwarfed by even the mighty Duke Blue Devils and Wake Forest towards the end of his tenure, and the fans still demanded we compete with ugag and Clemson.

Were you ööööing there? I was in the LE with the BS play right in ööööing front of me. We were celebrating a stop, asshole, when the flag came out. It was a good defensive play. The PI was every bit as bad as the PI the refs threw before halftime when we were up 20-0 when the gaggers had Fat Stafford at QB

Duke can't drive around a metro area and visit a hundred schools with dozens of P5 prospects. We can.

A. How much $$$ does a coach need to hop into a GT-company car and drive around metro ATL and recruit? No one knows, since PJ couldn't be bothered to ever do that.

B. I know of no fans who were demanding that we compete with ugag and Clemson. Which we weren't anyway at the end of 2018.

Why do you lie consistently? Many of our recruits came from the Atlanta area throughout PJ’s tenure.

in addition many fans cited the inability to beat Clemson and UGA as the main reason to move on.

I don’t care if you like Geoff Collins just stop lying about Paul Johnson.

Let’s look at PJ’s last four full classes and the hometowns of some signees, shall we?

2015 — players from Suwanee, Buford, Kennesaw, Marietta, Woodstock, Woodstock, Douglasville, Marietta, Norcross, Tyrone, Douglasville

2016 — Powder Springs, Duluth, Cummng, Newnan, Norcross

2017 — Hoschton, Covington, Atlanta, Atlanta, Atlanta, Powder Springs, Norcross, Buford

2018 — Snellville, Lawrenceville, McDonough, Newnan

This doesn’t include Cartersville, Calhoun, Dalton, Rome, Carrollton, nor the Savannah, Ludowici, Warner Robins, Brunswick signees.
Seems like quite a few kids from metro Atlanta.

I'll also drop you this nugget:
“He was very straightforward with me throughout the recruiting process,” (guess the player) said. “He told me week by week where we stood as far as offering me. He was a man of his word about everything he told me.”

That's Tobias Oliver.
He's talking about PJ.

whats on the field regardless-of talent etc is below par and starts at the top. I’ve seen zero improvement xs and os wise. Collins isnt a D1 Power 5 coach period. He was barely 500 at Temple

unc was as on par as going to miami his 1st yr.

Wow, one guy said nice things. Conversely, numerous area HS coaches have said that PJLazy never bothered to visit their school and players once over his whole time here.

No, I don't think he cared for recruiting very much.

Gimme a ööööing break. HS coaches across metro ATL say you're full of crap. The main reason to move on is that we were a stale gimmick playing service academy ball & only you diehard PJ lovers cared to watch.
We sure as hell weren't ever beating Clemson and the mutts again under PJ. Choppin' & floppin' was a stupid blocking scheme.

The State of GA is one of the few States where you can find P5 CFB Players all the way down to number 175 as far as Rankings go, in the top100 you might find the rare Recruit that signs with a G5 College, but almost all of the Top100 are P5 Players in GA and you find P5 Players as low as #175 ranked in Ga.

The Metro Area is 7 Million Folks and dozens of Top notch FB HSs with great FB Facilities, CPJ and his Assts could of hopped in Cars and did a Blitz of the Metro Area and filled our Recruiting needs.

In places like N Carolina, S Carolina, Virginia, once you get past the Top50 in the State, you are looking at G5 and FCS Prospects, while GA has P5 talent way past the #100 ranked Recruit.

Simply look at the NFL Draft over the last 10 years and see how well Ga HSs have done with sending Players to the NFL.

CPJ hated rejection from Recruits, CPJ hated the new age of Recruiting attention and arrogant Teenagers, and CPJ didn't get our fair share of GA HS Talent, but he sure loved benefitting from it, he was awfully arrogant those first 2 years with the Talent Chan left behind, he sure was, and he never adapted nor put in the hard work to keep that level of Talent at GT.

Everyone(not you OP), needs to stop making excuses for CPJ, no AD undercut his efforts as GT's HC
