Again, this has nothing to do with CPJ. You brought up a QB's who were recruited over 30 years ago Tech as an example of why Tech can now get a Justin Fields because simply because of who we now have at head coach. One of those quarterback's never did anything at Tech. Who is next in your references to make your case against a former coach? Hobie Holliday, Brandon Sumner? Were there no top rated Georgia quarterbacks available between 1988 and 2014? I agree that a pure passing QB was not going to come to Tech with Johnson here, but they were not coming before either. What magic pixie dust does Collins possess that will suddenly make this happen?
Even though Hobie Holiday didn't pan out we were targeting the right guys , he was the #1 OLB-Edge Defender in Ga for his class, in Recruiting in a Talent Rich State like GA, if you target enough Top5 Guys at their position, then your Roster looks like our hated Rival and you make a run at a title

Very simple:

If we could Recruit Top2 In-state QBs and Top5 Position Players 30 years ago, why couldn't a genius like CPJ?

The first thing Collins did is Recruit an Elite11 QB that finished in the middle third (6 out of 11) of that Camp competition (Sims)

And an Elite 11 QB this year. One thing he hasn't done is gotten an in-state top QB.

This is the guy we are after next year.

He also has another one committed for this upcoming class.

So now he has to be in state? UGAg's former starter wasn't in state nor was most of the decent QB's they have had. Stafford, Eason, Daniels.

Two of our best QB's were from South Carolina and Florida. Joe Ham and Godsey. JT5 was from Alabama.

However, it would have been nice to just get Lawrence or Watson or Fields to at least pay a visit during recruiting. We couldn't even get that

Definitely doesn't have to be, but we produce a lot of good ones, so would be nice to snag one one year.

No öööö? Well CPJ isn't here anymore and unless JT5 has an 18 year old chip off the old block son somewhere, we weren't winning that game again anytime soon running a 3-O.
Shaq Mason was the literally biggest reason for our success in 2014.. dude was a manbeast.. go back and watch the uga game LBs for uga we’re running away from him afraid

And he is an outlier unless you just think we should recruit 6'1" guards from here out. Won't win a bunch of games.

Scratch both of them. PJ wouldn't adapt or recruit. The present staff can't coach. Those are not the bars, clean house and go find a football coach, there is no risk, what have we got to lose?

We are not firing Collins, dickwad, for another 3 years. Get over yourself.

I never said CPJ was a genius. Especially at recruiting. However, I would rather measure a coach, any coach, less on who they "target" and more on who they actually get and whether that player actually turns out to be worth a öööö.

And we have freshmen and sophomores right now. When they are juniors and seniors, we can make the call. Until then, you're just whining.

I am not even talking about who we have now. I am talking about any coach and any player and any team and any year at Georgia Tech. I don't give a öööö that we recruited Hobie Holiday, Todd Rampley, Brandon Sumner, Francis Kallon or anyone else who did not do anything here. I do give a öööö that we recruited Morgan Burnett, Justin Thomas, Derrick Morgan, Vance Walker and others that performed well here. I give less of öööö about where we rank in recruiting and more about where we rank in wins.

The Pyron kid looks to be pretty decent. I still think if we somehow could find a way to maximize what it is Simmmms can excel at passing wise in combination with mixing up his running abilities on certain other calls.. a guy like that is what any defense hates to 11. I think we are doing that to an extent but...

.....Was gonna say that we aren't maximizing in my humble opinion

Sims was higher ranked than Pyron is by a good margin. I know we offered an 8th grader in Carrollton, but he has yet to play a varsity game.
