We managed to get the best WR in CFB before Johnson got here. Why should I doubt we could recruit a 5 * QB?

No öööö? Well CPJ isn't here anymore and unless JT5 has an 18 year old chip off the old block son somewhere, we weren't winning that game again anytime soon running a 3-O.

As far as in-State Recruiting goes, we used to regularly compete for Recruits ranked in the Top5 at their position in GA.

2 yrs before Boss Ross won the MNC, the Top2 HS QBs in GA were Shawn Jones and Charlie Ward, we got Jones won a MNC, Fla State got Ward and he won a Heisman, maybe a MNC also.

Compare that to CPJ's Era, we never had any shot to sign Top2 QBs in GA, guys like Watson, Fromm, Fields, Lawrence, this was due to CPJ's gimmicky offense that Recruits hated.

After Jones, Todd Rampley was also a Top5 QB the year he came out of HS.

At other Positions Guys like Dwyer, Burnett, Calvin, Key Fox were Top5 at their position in GA .

The hard facts are that GOL and and Chan competed for that level of in-State Recruit, but once CPJ arrived that stopped almost instantly.

Your little smug, smarmy remark above shows you might not know GT FB as good as you think you do.

Also during those Eras mentioned above the Gap between us & UGA wasn't that wide, but the longer CPJ stayed the wider the Gap became with UGA and Clemson too.

Explain why an Offensive Genius couldn't get a Top2 In-state QB, after all he was a genius why wouldn't elite Recruits want to be developed by him?

I thought we were talking QB's. Joe Hamilton came to Tech because we WANTED him at QB (Nebraska and Clemson were on him) as did Justin Thomas (Alabama). Todd Rampley? 1988? He didn't start until his senior year when he threw 6 TD's and 13 INT's. With this history of QB talent, I am surprised we aren't called QBU. This has nothing to do with CPJ. We would not have gotten Lawrence or Watson regardless based on our track record.

How do you know he'd be a great WR/Safety/DB?

All of our Skill Positions would look better if they had better support from the OLine.

How many undersized OLs and puny ABacks were in the Top5 in Ga at their position?

Explain why CPJ couldn't Recruit Top5 GA HS Recruits at their position?

Bobby Ross signing Shawn Jones is the equivalent of CPJ signing Justin Fields, explain why Fields never considered GT FB nor CPJ?

Again, this has nothing to do with CPJ. You brought up a QB's who were recruited over 30 years ago Tech as an example of why Tech can now get a Justin Fields because simply because of who we now have at head coach. One of those quarterback's never did anything at Tech. Who is next in your references to make your case against a former coach? Hobie Holliday, Brandon Sumner? Were there no top rated Georgia quarterbacks available between 1988 and 2014? I agree that a pure passing QB was not going to come to Tech with Johnson here, but they were not coming before either. What magic pixie dust does Collins possess that will suddenly make this happen?
