Timing, other opportunity matters. Do not delay if you have made up your mind. Otherwise, before you know it Ohio State is competing with you.

God yes. Look at that 2008 Georgia team. Stafford, Knowshon, Justin Houston, Geno Atkins, Massaqoui, AJ Green, their O-Line. We had no business winning that game. And we had no business winning it in 2009 either... And if Bebe catches that pass...

I swear I thought he had it too.
The pass before it to Steven Hill wins the game if he catches it.

Damn it all.....even had he caught the pass we had 35 more yards to go, had to score a touchdown to win, 1:22 on the clock and 1 timeout. Odds less than 50% that we would have scored there. Can people stop talking about that as if he dropped the ball in the end zone? Makes us look stupid.

Jay Jones - wasn't going to be as good as Lucas. Recognized it and got out
Lucas Johnson - probably would have taken starting job this season if it hadn't been for a freak injury
Christian Campbell - We need him as Safety. I hope he can make the NFL at that position. He has the size. He could be a good one
Jaylend Ratliffe - 4 wheelers are dangerous. I have known 2 people personally who got killed on 4 wheelers and my sister's stepdaughter got hurt badly on a 3 wheeler as a teen. 3 wheelers are off the market, but 4 wheelers are just barely more safe. Luckily, Ratliffe escaped with his life. Pretty much out of our control what happened to him.
I get all of that, but how did we go 0 for 4? Even 1 for 4 probably means ACC Coastal Champs. If you go back and look at the list of 4 stars we've signed since 2008, the bust rate is ridiculous. Francis Kallon, Ryan Ayers, Denzel McCoy, JC Lanier, Anthony Williams, Jordan Woods, etc. If some of those guys (especially the DLs) pan out instead of NEVER PLAYING A SINGLE MEANINGFUL DOWN, we're looking at a completely different tenure. Dedrick Mills getting kicked out immediately after Marcus Marshall transfers when Mills beat him out, the unbelievable rash of injuries in 2015, Vad Lee going from The Savior to a Stingtalk pole joke - so many little things that just add up.

Paul Johnson absolutely should have been a GT legend, but he isn't because of missed opportunities. That's gotta grate at him, and I imagine it's what led to his retirement. He knows he's been the best coach in the ACC for 10 years outside of Dabo, but his results don't back that up and now he won't be recognized for it.

Was Hill on the 09 team?
Yes. He was a freshman, I think. The pass before the Thomas drop was a pass to the NE corner about the 1 yard line. It would have been a tough catch. He got hit, but it was catchable, IMO. He catches that, we are punching the ball in for the win.

I agree. Would people also drop the Reggie throwing it out of bounds on 4th down? Everyone has acted like that lost us the game. Hell, we still had to score.

Isn't Jordan Woods a true or redshirt freshmen? Your point is valid, but I wouldn't call him a bust yet.

Yes, we do seem quite snakebitten with players that I got pretty excited about over the years. WR's that look like they should dominate. AT Barnes looking like a prototypical NFL linebacker and just being "OK" after all we, and he, went through to get him into school.

I'm still amazed that he made it to the NFL with all of one amazing catch and a serious knack for dropping balls that hit him in the hands, and drafted in the 3rd round no less.

He had a huge NFL Combine, IIRC. Measurables were great. NFL folks fall in love with measurables and think they can teach the rest.

Remember the story about Demaryius dragging him into the film room trying to teach him how to better himself on the field?

Nah man. I could feel it. We were moving the ball. We had them right where we wanted them. For the first time as a Tech fan I felt this odd feeling. I think it was optimism. Then he dropped it.

uh, that lost us the game. If he had just thrown a desperation ball that fell incomplete it would've been viewed differently, but that ball was a throw away on 4th down at the end of the game. It deserves its legendary status.

No, we lost the game in the prior 59 minutes.

Somewhat in Reggie's defense, though he should have known better, didn't Nix instruct him to? I seem to recall that Gailey was on the sidelines like "You are gonna do WHAT?!?"
