Your Seat Selection Appointment Time

It looked like in the pic of BDS in the artificial turf thread that they already have stinger seats in place for the students, designating a sitting area. I'd think once all the season tix are settled out GTAA will be putting stinger seats in place for all purchased tickets.

It's a really good idea, but if they do it, I wonder how they'll handle people who actually paid for the stinger seats. I know I received at least one e-mail trying to get me to buy them, but I ignored it because I'm fine with bleachers. I'd be a little annoyed if I paid for them and then everybody got them for free, so I guess they'd have to issue refunds?

I asked my ticket rep about bringing seat cushions and he said the policy should be same as prior years. I took that to mean they do not have plans to place the stinger seats to mark off sold seats. Would not figure on them placing those without charging since they are offering them for the $45 price. They would not let that revenue go away.

I've paid for my stinger seats. I don't care as long as I can get decent seats in the stadium.

Well this is interesting info: I opted out about a week ago. My selection time was to be September 1st. When I opted out it I was no longer able to look at seat selections. This am I get an email saying paraphrasing... "make your selections now."

So I logged on just now. Sure enough, I could see seats again. Given that I've been on the fence about going or not going all year, decided, what the heck lets see whats available. Lots available in Upper North where i usually sit.

So fellas .. I'm in! 2 seats. Row 1 Upper North. THWG!
Dropping my head.... Is this a sign that we can't sell out season tickets at 20% capacity and they are trying to open things back up? I hope we outnumber the kelly green and orange in the stands. I heard that the band allocation was not large enough so some of the band was bumped and going through the regular student lottery. Maybe the GTAA can refund them their band fees and direct-link them to the tix on Stub Hub..

i doubt it was just a glitch, don't you? based on the number of 2 seat blocks i saw, yeah, I think it probably is a sign. i can't believe i got row 1 upper north. i normally sit row 1 upper north, but in different section. i did find out that all of the season parking passes are sold out or they were as of this am. i ended up buying 6 individual parking passes for tech parkway. for the year it was $100 less than my standard student center parking.

You think the logic is to socially distance parking for tailgating reasons? Surely they didn't limit each parking structure to 20%, that seems like overkill.

Those seats have been in lower North endzone seating because thats where we are having full team meetings instead of the normal meeting room where they can't social distance.

i don't know. but it would seem strange for the student center deck to already be sold out. that's where i usually park. but we got the street parking on tech parkway which is close by. my 7 year old daughter was very excited to hear we are going to the games after all. looking forward to it.

Hmm, I haven't heard anything about my parking pass. Usually they just send it to me. Now you've got me worried.

if it was included i wouldnt worry. but when i checked out i just bought tix. didn't give me opportunity to buy parking. or stinger seats. it might have been because originally opted out but they let me back in. i dont know. i had to go to the parking page and buy my passes there. they did not have season parking passes available. but if you clicked on individual game passes they had some. i bought all six games. they weren't premium. but honestly i'm good with saving $100. which is how much less they were than student center.

No parking was not included on my invoice, nor were Stinger seats, though I already paid for both when I renewed in the spring. Seems like there will be plenty of parking, seeing as we're at 20% capacity, but still want my 'spot.' I like my routine!

i get that. i've been parking in SC for 15 years i think. for a one off year no biggie. but i dont tailgate.

My selection is tomorrow afternoon and looks like nothing but garbage seats left....... any suggestions on which of the remaining sections are decent?

225 will put you between the 40’s and offers a great opportunity to get a tan. I’ve been there for years and if you like a good view of the game it’s hard to beat. Bring sunscreen. Also try not to be too tipsy, going down stairs can be rough when you’re that high up.

upper north is under rated. stay toward the west side. my regular seats are as far west as you can go in upper north. row 1. been there forever.

Based on my long history of bad seats at away games, I’d probably go with upper East first (sideline, not really all that high up) followed by something as low as possible in upper north. I’d avoid the south and the extreme corners of upper west.

It looks like the inventory is getting thin, but I imagine the opt-outs will increase, too, so there’s still hope for people farther down the line.

IMO in this order:

UE 225, 224, 226

UN overhang 219, 218

South Stands and SE corner

Lower rows of upper-upper north (above aisle)

I doubt any season ticket holders are left out at this point as long as they're willing to take less desirable seats
