Jeff Sims

Is his left arm sleeve padded?

Is there any truth to this rumor that Norvell didn't want him? Seems far fetched given his size and athleticism. I'd guess Sims was alienated by the firing of Taggart.
Norvell wanted the kid from Arizona and basically told Sims to find a place to go, if there story of Sims decommitting I have heard is true. Norvell then got the incoming QB injured in practice because he was allowing contact on the QB's. So, FSU injured the chosen one.

He deserves it. I’m not sure if ACC Freshman of the week awards are given out, but he’ll likely get it.

The OU QB had an even better day, so probably not.
He was playing against lesser competition, but looked like another Trevor in his debut. Amazing arm.

That said, Sims was FANTASTIC and steady in a tough road game. Looking forward to being there next Saturday.

He’s gonna do more stupid crap this year, but he’s also gonna make a hell of a lot of great plays. Enjoy the ride.

I remember a year where not a lot was expected from us where we had a QB with a lot of playmaking ability but also prone to making mistakes yet maintaining his composure to manage the game and fight. That year we had a legit defense with some big hitters. That year was 1990. Not expecting this to look anything like that in the end, but I'm looking forward to shattering expectations from all the folks who wrote us off automatically before the season nonetheless.
