Gibbs gone

These kids have no loyalty to the team or the school they commit to. I'm starting to sour on college football like I have soured on pro football.
>Dedicate years of life and hard work and anything else you have to offer, to Tech
>Everyday you commit your blood, sweat, tears, etc., to Tech
>For years. Every. Single. Day.
>One day, Tech is no longer a place you feel you can be happy or successful.
>Have to make a decision for the sake of your future and your family, which will separate you from all of your closest friends, practically family.
>Thank Tech, thank friends, thank fans. Express love and well-wishes for all. Leave graceful and grateful.
>...
>Somewhere, someone - who does not know you or your circumstances, and does not care about your family or your future or you when you are not wearing the jersey of their favorite team - declares that you have no loyalty and are ruining college football.

I understand what you are saying, and honestly I think you are only saying it because you have not given it any thought while putting yourself in the shoes of these kids. We don't know what's going on in their lives or careers and they have to do what's best for them. As things stand today, I think anyone would have a hard time making the case that Georgia Tech football is providing the optimal opportunity for success to any of the men on its roster.

Bama has entered the Competition.

Since you're already in the Portal get the Bag & the Dodge Charger from Bama and next season you can beat uga and avenge losing to them this year.

Michigan State is making a run at him also
öööö off

Then how do you ever right the ship if it's all about the "me" mentality? If you are in it just to have instant gratification then you are not allowing to be the type kid to turnaround a program. These are the type kids we need in our program right now!

All season Tech fans:

“If I were Gibbs I wouldn’t play for this team. If he were my son I would tell him to transfer.”

Tech fans after Gibbs transfers:

Gibbs won’t be the last. If the portal would have been around when Calvin Johnson was here , Bama and Georgia would have offered him a new car and stole him away too.

That's my point though, is that they had the team mentality for years, through miserable, awful seasons and embarrassing losses. But now they feel their hand has been forced by the state of the program into doing what's right for themselves and their families. Don't you think at some point they've earned the right to make that decision?

Other than maybe legacies, these kids have no connection to the school they commit to. They get sold on a vision by the coaches. Then they see coaches leaving on a moment's notice for more money and sending their players a text once the news breaks. You can't expect loyalty from anyone.

I doubt Bama takes the package deal with Sims.
With Sims, I wonder who cut whom, generally think that was not a smart move.
I also wonder about the late season injuries.

Everytime I question a rumor, it gets confirmed like 5 minutes later, but where are you hearing package deal? And cut how? Huh?

Go öööö yourself. Seriously.

I was thinking the same thing but we were actually good back then so I disagree.

So, now it looks like there could be legitimate interest in Tennessee. I don't get it. If he leaves for an established factory, that's one thing. If he goes to a trash-ass program like Tennessee just because sEc then sorry but don't let the door hit you on your way out.

It's right up I-75 & he is the guaranteed starter in '22. Plus, $EC. And free range balls at all home games

The portal will be a boon to coaches that seem to have their teams headed in the right direction and will further hurt coaches that look like they're floundering, regardless of whether the school is a factory or not.

There was a lot of buzz around C**** his first couple of years and the portal was a net benefit to Tech. Now that he looks like a fraud, it's easier for the athletes to jump ship. If he's somehow able to turn it around, we'll benefit again. If, more likely, he continues to struggle, we'll lose more talent.
