Hire Brent Key

I’m convinced Key’s wife slept with your husband. It’s the only explanation for you being this exhausting across multiple threads.
Goosefrabba.
But he is right. You guys are acting ööööing ridiculous. Some of you definitely know it, but others are so authentically ööööing insane that you believe it when someone says in the afterglow of a hyper rare upset, "Key has it."

If you are on board with passing on Chadwell for Key and tonight's win is what made this so, then you are every bit the dumbass Braine was when Gailey's "can we win a title?" question ignited a fateful fire in his dusty loins. You're all willing to go back to Gailey as long as it means leaving Collins behind. But one year from right now, when you're ööööing sick of Gailey again, we'll begin the long multi-year process of languishing in mediocrity while college football continues to pass our desperate-to-be-deceived dumb ööööing faces right on by, and we will bicker and bitch about how we could have ever ended up in this situation again.

Key's gonna be our next HC, like it or not. Had Key been HC in August, we're in a bowl and possibly winning the Coastal.
Key is cheaper than Chadwell and is a GT guy. He's our next HC. Get used to it.
You're saying this because if we hire Chadwell, you're going to be so ööööing mad you might actually stop watching. You don't give a öööö about Key.

Last week the general mood on this board was to fire everyone immediately that was in any way associated with clown. Many of the reasons stated were that they didn't stand up and call for clown's firing or didn't resign in protest mid season. The hate for Key and all was palatable a few short days ago through the last drive of the first half today. Now many if not most are using today as proof Key and everyone should be retained. Thank God we're not AD's. Look at today's scores among the top 20. One day does not and should not dictate a decision with multi-year and financial ramifications. Chill the &@$# out and let the professionals handle it. They only get it right 35% or so of the time anyway. Why do we think we know better while drunk after an upset?

Are you drunk?

No doubt, but again, Gibson didn’t do THAT much today.
GT averaged 0.31 epa per pass play. He was only given 18 chances to throw the ball, but of those 18 attempts he added an extra 5.5 points. I guess he “managed” the game in the Long didn’t order up a lot of passes, but the passes he hit made a big impact.

Meh, not really. Chadwell doesn't run 25 QB Keepers per game. I just don't think he'd do much for our program - do we know how good of a coach he is when he doesn't have a superstar starting QB? Hell, do any of his option fanboys know if he'd even accept an offer to come here?

I don't care about Key, you're right - I just think he'll be our next coach. I also think you're being a putz but you knew that already, you drunk bastard.

Sure, but he didn’t throw the ball more than 20 yards in the air all game. Most of his passes were screens, slants, curls, hitches, etc. which allowed our receivers/running backs to be athletic enough to make their own plays.

Long MUST GO. Not sure about Weinke
The thing about Long is that he's proven to be long on the uptake. He's not calling the shots for Bama but it's taken him forever to read the memo. His play calling might work somewhere else but not here right now. Perhaps Key or whoever could help straighten this glitch out. Also, the clock management thing. It's crazy that they're not playing the clock in critical situations. Use gigantic flashcards or something to signal the QB at 10 seconds? It's kind of a big deal.

Will be interesting to revisit this thread if we get blown out by UGA next week...
That’s the thing. Some see the irony and humor in the knee jerk reactions after each week, but many get really unstable and dramatic at the mention of a BK compliment. It’s quite the show. Next weekend will be legendary StingTalk after a win or loss. Book it.

I don't envy Batt. It's a huge decision and Key has made it a difficult one. He's made a strong case but Batt may have someone too good to pass up.
Agreed. At the very least, we have a viable backup choice if their are other primary choice(s) that turn the job down publicly.

This. It’d be a REALLY tough to make a case for another HC if Key can go 5-3, with wins over UGA, VT, and a ranked UNC. Granted, that’s an enormous “if”
Unless JB already has a home run hire locked up in his back pocket that he’s waiting to announce right after COFH.

Nor has anyone heard of Coastal Carolina before Grayson McCall...nor Chadwell, for that matter.

You could make the same argument with Charleston Southern. In terms of football they were nobody before and nobody now. His record at CS and virtually the same as his record at CC at this point. He has hit all the indicators so far in his career that say he is a consistent winner. The question for us is, is it enough to take a chance on that next potential winning team being us?
