It’s anecdotal, but the Bama fans I know understand the recruiting rankings are BS- they’re of all ages btw.

I don't disagree with you, but then you also have articles being written like this one:

Georgia also had the top recruiting class for the second time in three years, which coincides with the advent of college football's early signing period. Alabama finished No. 2, but it's lumped in closer with the rest of the national championship weight class that includes Clemson, Ohio State and LSU. Those are the Crimson Tide's peers now. There is not a clear "Alabama and everybody else"-type separation anymore.

There is talk that Bama/Saban is slipping.
 
Tech used to bring in four, maybe five Super Southern 100 recruits annually during good periods. I equate this to four and five star recruits.
Effectively last year CGC brought in nine Four star recruits. That is unusually high and it doesn’t surprise me that kids look at playing time and other factors this year after doing that.
I do believe that we will have to perform on the field to really make a permanent dent in recruiting. Here’s hoping we get a chance to do that this year.
 
@Diseqc may be trolling, but he’s also right. We are not recruiting well right now. I’m aware rankings change and kids change schools, but as of right now, we are sucking.
 
We are also sucking for all classes after this one with exactly zero commits so far. Off to inject hand sanitizer now....

Quarantine hurts us more than other folks because we can’t get our high energy guys on the road.

It’s going to take 3-4 years to see a real on the field difference.
