Everyone who lived through the 70s... loved the 70s.
You kids have no idea.
I lived the 70's show. It was awesome.

When you've had the #1 or top 3 recruiting class for as many years as Bama has, then having a top 10 recruiting class is a decline; having a top 20 recruiting class would be major freakoutery decay. So yes, I would like to be in decline like Bama is in decline. Losses to the #2 and #15 teams by a combined 8 points, completely missing the conference championship game, winning a 'who cares' bowl in Orlando; yes that is something to long for.
It’s anecdotal, but the Bama fans I know understand the recruiting rankings are BS- they’re of all ages btw.
For the second time in three years, Alabama isn't coming off a national championship. For the second time in three years, Alabama isn't coming off an SEC championship. For the second time in three years, Alabama doesn't have the No. 1 recruiting class. None of that should be considered a reason to believe the dynasty is over, but the Crimson Tide have more competition than ever before on and off the field.
Georgia also had the top recruiting class for the second time in three years, which coincides with the advent of college football's early signing period. Alabama finished No. 2, but it's lumped in closer with the rest of the national championship weight class that includes Clemson, Ohio State and LSU. Those are the Crimson Tide's peers now. There is not a clear "Alabama and everybody else"-type separation anymore.
Is it over? No, not yet. The fact we're asking the question, however, suggests this dynasty might not be as impressive as it used to be.
I don't disagree with you, but then you also have articles being written like this one:

There is talk that Bama/Saban is slipping.

Why does this thread exist, and why are people responding in it?
@Diseqc may be trolling, but he’s also right. We are not recruiting well right now. I’m aware rankings change and kids change schools, but as of right now, we are sucking.
If you think there is any relevance, wait for the data to populate and knock yourself out.Has anybody done any kind of analysis comparing other coaches recruiting against CGC the first and second time versus recruiting against him the third time?
It’s going to take 3-4 years to see a real on the field difference.Tech used to bring in four, maybe five Super Southern 100 recruits annually during good periods. I equate this to four and five star recruits.
Effectively last year CGC brought in nine Four star recruits. That is unusually high and it doesn’t surprise me that kids look at playing time and other factors this year after doing that.
I do believe that we will have to perform on the field to really make a permanent dent in recruiting. Here’s hoping we get a chance to do that this year.
AgreeQuarantine hurts us more than other folks because we can’t get our high energy guys on the road.
Good to hear. Why do you say that? This post didn't age well.
Probably related to the two top 50 GA players that committed in the last 48 hours.Good to hear. Why do you say that?
