I recall as a child hearing Atlanta pronounced with an R ending. El dough rodo or the correct El dough raydo is also South of Tifton.

My family is from tifton and I lived there for my formative years.

My grandmother never ended a word with a vowel. If a word ended with a vowel the always added the “r.”
