Dook postgame

Ok fine. Then we can be the only team that doesn’t use its brain and give our defense a break. They were snapping the ball while Efford was calling our set and not even facing the LOS. That’s not high level football. Sure, we got away with it against Duke. We don’t get to play Duke every week. Syracuse did the same thing to us. Just go down and grab a cramp.
Get out of here with that bush league stuff. You want fake injuries go watch soccer or Ole Miss. That stuff has no place in football.

So only a limited region of the US was able to view it? You might want to reevaluate your definitions; clearly, it was a national broadcast. Whether you get that channel or not

According to the announcers the PI was at the top of the route, not towards the end. However, they never actually showed the top of the route on TV.

Yeah, they said that, but the only contact I saw was the usual hand checking. Unless it was way before the replay. In that case it would have to be defensive holding because the ball wasn’t in the air.

Bc teams know that we try to establish the run and stack the box. Pretty obvious reason
But if other teams know, and we fans know, then why the hell does CBF stay with the same play calling sequence? Every idiot that knows the slightest thing about football knows that at some point when the opposing defense stacks the box, then you scheme something up to loosen it up. An intermediate pass play, milk of magnesia, prune juice, ex-lax...or whatever. It's ööööing insanity watching our offensive play calling at times.

Our WRs need to have more awareness about where they line up being consistent regardless of where the play is going. Run going the opposite direction? You still need to make sure you're an eligible receiver otherwise it's a tell to the defense. Play call changes, but formation doesn't change; why do you need to adjust your spacing?

The offense went extremely vanilla for a big portion of the game. It looked like Buster’s play sheet had 4 plays on it. Strange and frustrating. They still won’t let King stretch the field vertically and it seemed to make this game a whole lot closer than it should have been. The two final TD drives were a strong show of the running game, just feels like Duke was never in it, much less had a lead in 3Q.

You can be happy about a win and still be concerned about things.

The other thing that was concerning is that our linemen were getting pushed around instead of creating lanes. It’s why our ball carriers were frequently stopped by running into the back of our linemen.

Did you notice we were 7/16 on 3rd downs and 3/3 on 4th downs?
Seems like you missed that part

Also when trying to teach your team how to run against other teams even when they know you're gonna run, like when you're ahead against a team that's not as good as others you will face, then maybe you wanna you know run when they know you're going to in order to practice that.

Not sure you can consider ACC Network to be a national broadcast but glad we beat those punk bastards. dook is the school rich helicopter parents send their fragile kids to who aren’t smart enough to get into an academically elite school. Yet they prance around with their noses in the air. They’re in Raleigh acting like little bitches, it’s not exactly a travel destination either. It just sucks and all they have is a small little gym to watch their floppers flop. Pathetic ööööing school. öööö dook.

They leave the womb-like safety of Durham to visit the wilds of Raleigh?

Tackling seems to have gotten sloppy again. Lot of open field misses, not wrapping up ball carriers,...Need to tighten up here.

I would agree that the offense was very conservative in the middle half of the game, but our field position was awful on most of the possessions. It was as if we thought Duke would struggle to score and we were going to try and hold on to the win. During that stretch the O-line did seem to lose its enthusiasm fir blocking.

However, once Duke took the lead we shifted gears back to the early game mode and completely dominated until the end. We won a hard fought game against a decent team to get to 4-2. That is plenty to be happy about.

Ideal for the staff. Got the W, but a lot to work on.

Wouldn't that be a hold of it was at the top of the route and the ball hadn't been thrown, not a PI?

Completion percentage can be deceiving, it should really be weighted against 7 yards per completion. So our adjusted completion percentage would be 74%* 5.4/7 or 57%. That scaling accounts for short passing game.

And 3/3 on 4th downs is one of those good news/bad news types of stats.

That said our O was ok. Duke has a solid defense. We had 3 TDs and a fg. That is a win for the O in my book. You should expect to win conference games when you score 24. We gave up 14. That is an absolute win for a defense against a P4 team.

I think the game would have had a different feel had our scoring been more evenly distributed.

Not sure we should be complaining about the refs after that roughing the passer call that gave us a first down.
That wasn’t a bad call. The defender went in with his helmet and hit Haynes on his helmet. That’s illegal contact to the head.

Haynes clearly was calling for it afterward because he took the helmet hit.

Couple thoughts...

Singleton is fast. Finally figured out how to get him more touches.
Still have not given up a sack
Finally got a pick
TV camera work was outstanding
The crowd/stadium looked really good
We have a seriously fast guy on the DL
How is it possible that Miami won
