Expansion Rumors…

The only good options for GT that are feasible is hopefully an invite from the Big 10 or if that doesn't materialize then *gag* the Big 12. The best scenario from a regional standpoint is the SEC but we all know that's not going to happen. Worst case scenario is GT drags its feet and gets no invite from the Big 10 and the Big 12 fills up with the likes of Memphis, Tulane, UCF etc. The ACC is just a dead conference walking unless we want to stick around and hang out with Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina.

Well hey maybe we can end up in the PAC 2 and play Washington State, sweet!
I really don't think the ACC is as dead as people are saying. That is the narrative being pushed by the B1G and SECSPN because a destabilized ACC will have teams jumping like rats off of a sinking ship. See what happened with Washington and Oregon, 2 big marquee teams that came to the B1G with hat in hand, begging to take a reduced share. Noone wants the ACC to go away more than the SEC and the B1G. The Big12 is going to be a good basketball conference, but in football, it just just a souped up American Athletic Conference. Joining the Big12 would suck ass... Who's excited for a fall trip to Lubbock or Ames?

I'm not your pal, buddy.

I wouldnt even take kickbacks with you

It will be interesting to see how many people watch the Tech/UL game. It’s on a nationally viewed channel at 3:30 so the numbers should be pretty good. Got some pretty good competition with LSU/UCLA, ND/Miami OH, and USC/Mich all playing a 3:30.

Just curious. What makes you think based on the current results through week 3 that the ACC is better top to bottom? Both leagues are 2-2 against one another.

The ACC “brands” (Clemson, FSU) are not exactly rolling right now. Miami is now the leader in the clubhouse? You really believe Miami is better than we’ll say Utah in a 1 off game based on the history of the 2?

Clemson still feels like the team who will come out on top. Just don’t trust a Mario C led team.

Both leagues need more middle teams to rise to the top and win 8-9 games. For the ACC, will Cuse, Pitt, GT, be those teams?

There’s also the following at 3:30-4 that will draw numbers.

Arkansas @ Auburn - 3:30 ESPN
#12 Utah @ #14 Oklahoma Stare - 4:00 Fox

Yet the night schedule overall is pretty weak again. Sort of odd.

They killed the PAC-12 which killed the night schedule. For example, if PAC-12 was still a alive, maybe Utah is playing USC or Oregon is a premium night game, instead of Okie St in an afternoon game.

Pretty much MW, ACC (Cal, Stanford), B1G splitting late nights (Oregon, UW, USC). I was surprised with how weak the night slate was last week, that Wazzou-UW Apple Cup was on at 3:30 pm on Peacock, and not 10-10:30 Fox, ESPN, etc.

Definitely interesting times now as it relates to quality later games vs not much at all.

The simple fact some of you have yet to accept is the ACC will collapse the minute the GOR either expires in 2036, is negotiated to end early, or a court rules it is unenforceable. Why? Because of money. Period, end of story.

The SEC and BIG will just wait and then take the teams they want and no team will be dumb enough this time to say no. Sure, guys like Cabrera and JBatt will play the game in the media to say how happy they are in the ACC because that’s where they are today but they both know the money is what will make the decision. This reminds of guys who said we’d never have a playoff system or that the DH would never be used in the NL. It’s an inevitability because of past poor business decisions.
