It feels that way but the fact that we're in Atlanta, have AAU membership, have a terrific national brand in academics and have won nation titles in football before give us a much stronger starting hand than 8-5 offsuit. I'd say we're at least J-10 suited or maybe a lower pair like 8-8 or 7-7 where we can make some preflop moves but will get crushed by some holding AA (ND), KK (Clemson) or AK (FSU, Miami, UNC, UW, Stanford).

add in short drives to SC and Bama plus commutable trips to Vandy, and Florida. Joining the SEC would totally revive the fan base and program. It would help our recruiters and provide significant funding. Guarantee you our current players would be thrilled if we could get into the SEC.

Some of you think Tech has zero leverage in the current climate and I'm here to tell you we do. If you think the SEC is just going to let the B1G come down here and claim a foothold, "you got another thing coming."

There are 6 or so teams in the sec and B10 that we will not be competitive with, under the very best monetary advantages of membership. Careful what you ask for. At least an intact ACC presents a chance about 3 times a decade to catch lightening in a bottle, like GOL and CBR found. Key word...intact.
