Expansion Rumors…

His replacement at Alabama won a NC also. Curry was average to mediocre.
1985 ACC Coach of the Year, 1989 SEC Coach of the Year, his 3 years at Bama won 7,9,10. If CGC gets a 20 year extension next year, he won't even smell such. As far as GT, Bama, and UK records---Jimmie and Joes. He wasn't Saban by any stretch, but mediocre and average might be a bit unfair.

You'd have to ask Stansbury since he did that while AD at MTSU . . . . . . .
Actually that was ETSU. But I didn't realize Stansbury was the AD who did that. Wow, what a dumb decision that was purely financial and backfired spectacularly. And now we can see that apparently all of his decisions are purely financial without realizing what college sports is about which is marketing your school. You know what does the best marketing? Winning. And I don't think when he hired CGC it was without regards to winning, I believe Todd thought Collins could win but we all now see he is in over his head. But CGC wasn't hired specifically for winning, but for marketing. And to say it has failed spectacularly would be a major understatement... About like UT and Butch Jones. The "brick by brick" mantra was great when they were beating Georgia and Florida, but fell apart when they started losing because players left after being lied to about the football side of things.

If that's true, then gotta figure GT would be the only option for the B1G to get into the southeast (NCSU not AAU, Wake/Duke too small). We've already gone over the AAU factor and Atlanta market positives for us.

I love how the state of Georgia has stuck up for us through this. Clemson and USuCk will have the advantage of being in the same conference. Florida and FSU have that advantage. Auburn and Alabama. Texas and Texas A&M. We just need to middle finger UGAg and pick up an extra home game per year.

From a TV market footprint perspective, the B1G's best bets from the ACC are:
- Miami
- GT
- NCSU
- VPI
They come out way ahead of the SEC grab when it comes to TV sets in their footprint.

Virginia and NC football suck ass historically and their home games are about as bad as Duke was during the ACC losing streak (that ended vs us unfortunately). I think that the B1G would get an overall better package. Clemson and FSU are of course prizes.

I'd be OK with this. Put us in a pod with Miami, at least
I’m not ok with it but will accept it. Sad days that we have to give up the Clemson rivalry, as well as not play FSU, uNC or Virginia anymore.

Was really hoping we would go where Clemson goes. I was there the last two times we’ve beaten Clemson and uGA. Nothing compares to the feeling. As much as the losses have been sucky, that feeling can’t be replaced with 5 Vatech wins and 5 Miami wins.

I could see the B1G working on a deal to add GT, Dook and UM. That would be a massive addition to their cable rights income. Of course they want ND as well.

Right now we can speculate til the cows come home. Let's just chill and see what happens. And, your Mom.

I would hate to loose our regionality with the sport with a BIG10 move unless other southern ACC schools are coming. I guess you get used to it, but I don't see how teams like West Virginia fanbase feel any rivalry with their opponents, and the thought of how I feel when we play Pitt or BC be 80% of the weeks is depressing. For me, the most excitement for gameday Saturdays lies in the ACC staying around or somehow getting an SEC invite. My ideal of late 90s ACC block of GT-CLEM-FSU-WF-NCST-UNC-Duke-UVA-Maryland seems like a different lifetime.

öööö Clemson. They can become a secondary team to Bama and UGAg
