I think the people who want to remain in the ACC are trying to hold onto some kind of tradition / nostalgia of what CFB was before expansion started. That said, if GT is struggling to win in what is considered either 4th or 5th out of the P5, going to the B1G won’t be easy. The prize is $100 million regardless of record.I think money is the argument being made by the B1G crowd, nationwide conference should mean more $$. The SEC crowd seems focused on what their next door neighbor thinks. I don't know what's up with the guys wanting to stay in the ACC forever.
Now if the future of FBS goes to 2-3 super conferences with relegation, that will be real interesting. It will show quickly who‘s in it to win (Bama, tOSU, UGA, ND, USC, OU, etc) and who is just collecting a paycheck (Vandy, Illinois, Maryland, etc).
