Expansion Rumors…

So now we have Clemson, Florida State and UNC all publicly stating they want a bigger share of the pie

This isn’t going to end well for us or the ACC.
Where are we reading UNC? According to one of those charts Tech had more viewers than UNC

The main thing to note is that the UNC AD never said he wanted TV revenue distribution based on which teams people were watching. Probably wants it to be based on time in league or how close to a national championship a team reached that year (regardless of in which sport of course).

I would lmao if they got what they wanted and then were one of the lowest paid teams based on viewership afterwards. Frick the tareholes, them, their alumi (Swafford) and their buttbrothers dook are the very reason the ACC sucks so bad in the first place.

The key fact in all of this is that no matter how they decide to split it, many ACC teams would receive less money than they are currently receiving to the benefit of a few that would receive more. No league can survive that without major upheaval....see Big 12 and Big East.......and the fact these ADs are promoting something they know won't work is evidence that something else is brewing and they are laying the seeds to exit.

So Bubba thinks his fielding fencing and field hockey teams means he should get more money. Or the basketball “battle of the blues”, most recently between unranked teams, should get him more cash. Revenue sharing is the real reason for joining a conference, or in Notre Dame’s case, for not joining.(Or seeing if you can hoodwink some Tobacco Road bumpkins to let you join and share revenue except in football because you have your own NBC football deal).

Bubba, you are admitting you might have been better off to not expand your conference and have to split revenue 14/15 ways. I say the schools ought to dig in on this and vote together against the self-designated entitled schools. Make them leave and pay us dearly on the way out.

It should be reduced by 1% of your last year's revenue for each year since you've won the ACC football championship. So for UNC, deduct 41%

The main reason to do this is to bust the GOR and get out of the conference. GT, Miami, Duke, VT, & Louisville should jump in on this and then once it is approved, use it to revoke the GOR. After that, it is every school for themselves; and we should play the SEC against the B1G and see if anyone bites. It think either GT & Miami end up in the B1G, or GT, FSU, & Clemson end up in the SEC. Else we end up in some bottom feeder conference with NCState, Wake, and Tulane; but I don't think that happens.

I would be all for GT, FSU and Clemson to the SEC in any scenario with us leaving the ACC. The others just don't make sense to me. There is something to be said about regional rivals (that's why conferences were set up in the first place). USC and UCLA in the Big are asinine to me. I DO NOT want to fly in to Detroit to go and see us play Michigan in the snow or Wisconsin for that matter.

SEC is our natural fit. I get why we left in the first place but that was a horrible decision in hindsight. The SEC is like the group of popular kids everyone aspired to be with and hang out with but were stuck up snobs. But if you were accepted by them then that made everything right.

I honestly would prefer to blow it all back up and go back before all of this conference re-alignment. It just made things more interesting regionally and conference vs. conference.

Conference death type 1 (Big12)
1. Conference falls behind in revenue
2. Conference goes to unequal revenue model
3. Conference upper mid properties bolt to greener pastures since they will fall behind in their own conference
4. Upper mid programs replaced with lower mid programs
5. Upper level programs lose money due to crappy conference
6. Upper level programs leave

Conference death type 2 (big east/PAC)
1. conference falls behind in revenue
2. Conference maintains equal rev distribution
3. Upper level teams leave
4. Upper level teams replaced with lower mid teams
5. Revenue falls further
6. Conference absorbed/merges with lower level conference

The acc hopes that the gor will prevent teams from leaving. But there is no reason for the upper mid teams to agree to unequal revenue without getting back the gor. There is no reason for the low value programs to accept unequal revenue so long as the gor exist.
